As much as I hate ExpressVu, I've been considering a second 5100. It's either that or a VCR and it always seems I want to watch something when I'm recording something else.
I've been told that Bell will probably sell the next gen DISH PVR a few months after it's on the market. I've read that DISH sells a 7100 or something that is a PVR with two tuners yet when I go to their website I only see the 3100, 5100 and 6000. Dish Receivers Is DISH selling this new PVR yet? |

I just spoke to a BEV rep. and he said that the next gen PVR won't be out in the near futur(1 year perhaps) has they will analyze to make available options for the 5100 (Second hard drive via the expansion port... ). I think that if they can upgrade and lower the price they could sell more 5100. I need more space .

that's interesting. The expandability would be handy but still doesn't get you a second tuner.
Whatever happened to the 721 which won an award at CES, doesn't dish have that out? |

Not for the moment. I go see their press release to see every month or so. Personnaly, I think BEV will not sell a new PVR but instead will try to sell has much 5100 as possible. You have to take in account that we are less BEV versus Dish. My guest is late 2003
By then they may sell HD-PVR(DVI) to replace the 6000+5100. |

Never thought I would say this but I need a bigger hard drive. Between Kids programming, regular programming and I was thinking of subbing to TMN and IFC which would drive my hard drive insane!
The possibility of adding more storage is really appealing. |
