What a selection! What a tough one. I've seen most of them and darned if I didn't like them all. In the end, I had to go with The Sting. By the way, shouldn't American Graffiti be in there?

For my money, The Outlaw Josey Wales should be there.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The rest are cr@p.
Seriously, though, I'd narrow it down to one of the following: - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest; - Alien; - A Clockwork Orange; or - The Exorcist.

Which movies won the academy awards in the 70s for best picture? Anyone know where you can find a list?

I voted for Apocalypse Now. What a great decade for movies.

Maybe it's my relative "youth" (not seeing many pre-1970s movies), but can we just say right here and now that the 70s were the greatest decade for movies? I mean - just look at that list...just an absolute murderer's row of classic, quality films that have stood the test of time.

That honour would go to the 1950's IMHO.
