Anybody have a suggestion where I can get a cheap 6000?

You might want to try kusat.com - their 6000 price was $689.

I just bought one for $629, the cheapest price I could find. It was at:
www.getabell.com

It is listed as $649 on the web site, but I called and they quoted $629.

What would be a suggested good price for a used 6000? One just popped up on my local for sale NG. And was there a mod to the 6000 recently which will enable it to be adapted to OTA reception, and if so, what was the build date of the change? Thanks, just joined this group. Newtoit

The 6000 receive software upgrades all the time so any you buy would be fine.

I doubt you'll get a used one cheap since not many folks have bought them let alone resold them.

Default Getabell email addresses

Is this company still in buisness. I've tried all there email addresses and got all returned by my server as undeliverable :x ... Any new Info for contacts?

Follow up:

Contacted them by phone. 649 is based on if you are a new customer. 699 if you are not. Don't try contacting by email as they all have changed. Best to reach by phone.

Default price for 6000

the cost is 584.00
without the dish and 569.00 with dish for most dealers, if you can find it cheaper (Still new) then buy it. But remeber if it aint new andm something goes wrong bell will not help you out.

Is it $649 at getabell for the 6000 receiver and the dish? It says "system" on their site but no mention of dish in any of the models.

Do you have to activate the HDTV channels or can you start with the basic package until you need them? What if I decide to sell it and go back to Rogers (do they keep harassing you about subscribing)?

I bought mine as an additional receiver from them for $629. When I called to activate it the HD channels activated without either of us making mention of it. To order I called the location in Sudbury directly.
