This is the new LG 37LC2D in the market with their proprietary XD engine.. Looks good at FS ( $2499) Any takes on this one? Any comments on after sales service from LG ? 2 year warranty looks good.

Hi, I just bought this set 2 days ago from futureshop, it is on sale now for 2199 and if you buy it online, you can get extra $50 off. I love this set, the HD looks great(i use shaw HD box), no trail or lag for fast moving scenes. Also, it handles the standard channel very well. digital channels are very good as well, i would say that digital channel are DVD looking. very good speakers. downside, one HDMI port, and there's a humming sound come out of the back of the TV. if you mute the volume, you can hear it. but i guess it is normal, not a big deal. one thing that i am concerned about is that i can't use some of the functions on the remote if i connect the tv and HD box via componet or HDMI/DVI. for example, there's no caption available for the all the channels if i am using the connections above. the caption can only be showed when connect with coaxial cable. there's some other functions i can't use as well. I was looking to buy the sharp 37D40U, but the PQ on that set seems been blown away by the LG....anyways, I would recommand you to go for this set, very good value for vary good price.

forgot to mention one more thing, LG have 2 years warranty on LCD tv, which is an additional value that you can take into consideration.

Thanks.. I was debating between the Samsung 4051D and LG37LC2d..

It went down to the wire but could'nt tempt the deal I got for samsung..
Brought it from HDTV ( warden/Steeles) ..

You are correct about the sound LG beats samsung hands down..
I felt the samsun clarity a little better though a little bright sometimes with DNIe.. I am getting the set on Tuesday..

All said and done one word of advice incase you are mounting from the wall buy a tilted mount LG out of axis vision do have purple haze.. which should not be a problem .. however from centerline it has amazing real picture..

Did you find the QAM tuner any use ?getting HD channels from antenna? This was another important feature for LG..I wish I could have have bought the same...but samsung was very lucrative deal for me..

Happy viewing...an exellent TV..

Default 32LC2D Buzzing Noise

Hi,

I just purchased a 32LC2D a few days ago. When I turned it on, it was perfect, no noises. When I tried to change the light settings from "Daylight" to anything else, it instantly made a buzzing sound from the back, not from the speakers. Changing back to daylight brought complete quiet. I also went in the custom settings. Changing any setting, contrast, brightness, etc.., caused the buzzing noise to return.

I don't understand how the TV can be dead quiet in "daylight" mode, but create a loud buzz in any other mode. Does anyone else experience this problem? I tried contacting LG and asked if this was normal operation or a problem. They just say to take it too a service station, not answering my question. I don't want to experience endless service time, if this is how it normally operates. I would rather just return it.

Can anyone else verify this noise problem?

This noise is often related to an undersized power supply. When you "push" the contrast, or there is a lot of white on screen, or sometimes when there is a lot of writing on the screen, it stresses the power supply and the unit buzzes. Reduce the contrast and you might be fine, or buy another HDTV.

The "daylight" setting actually has the contrast pushed to 100%, reducing it causes a buzz. Changing any setting other than using the default "daylight" setting causes a buzz.

wensoo there should be no buzzing from your tv if you adjust any of the video settings.

I hear no buzzing on mine and mine inputs are all adjusted.

Hi wensoo,

I have the same problem so you are not alone. A repair person is coming this Friday. I notice this thread is kinda old so if there is interest, I will post what I find out.
