Maybe I missed it. Have you considered just sending the audio to the 92 and sending the video directly to the TV? It might mean a few extra button presses on the remote, but if you have a fully programmable remote it might be okay.
If you have a shortage of component or DVI inputs on the TV you could use a remote switch. |

I did the originally without a problem. I just wanted to try to use the HDMI input on the 92. I have just now searched through the manual and found that there is a button on the remote to select the audio signal. When it is in the default "auto" it presumes that if HDMI is plugged in, it must have the audio. Of course, with DVI to HDMI adapter, such is not the case. So, I think manually setting the audio to "digital" would solve the problem. Unfortunately, unless the setting is allowed to be different for different inputs, this just presents a different problem. In any case, for now I am going to stick with the component connection as it definitely works. Thanks for all the help.

Can I use the cable pass-through on the Samsung 260 to feed NTSC to my screen without affecting the signal strength to the 260? I'm using a CM4228 with a CM7777 on tower through 50 or 60 ft of RG6?

corndog - yes you can, but you have to leave the 260 on when viewing NTSC on your TV. The 260 does not pass the signal when the power is off.

Thanks Whidbey. The ATSC seems to come through great. I tried the pass-through with the Sammy off and it does work. Newer model maybe?

Just hooked up my Samsung DTB-H260F to A Sony KLV-32SA10 LCD. Box works perfectly when hooked up to component. When I hook it up to HDMI I briefly get a colour picture but no sound. The picture quickly fades to black and white and starts to fade and break up. I made certain to set the DTV out select switch to HDMI so that is not the problem. Could this be a HDMI handshake problem? I only have one set of component inputs on this set so this becomes a real annoyance if I have to constantly hook and unhook cables to change between satellite and OTA.

OK, I got this on Ebay to test reception on my Panasonic Tau 32" 1080i tube TV.
I hooked it up and just stuck the antenna on top of it in my basement and got CBC just fine, nothing else. We watched this for a few days just fine, then when I started moving my antenna outside to get better reception it became intermittent and now it does not see any signal anywhere any how! My antenna gives me CBC and CTV analog when I connect it to the TV Ant input. The HDTV receiver upstairs, AND outside is still ZERO - I think the receiver has failed. Where can I just GO INTO A STORE and buy something like this in Toronto, instead of having to wait for mail etc from an online retailer? Pete in Etobicoke |

My Samsung H260F does not pass the signal through if the power is off. By the way, the 4228 works great down to channel 6 (Global). Anything below (2 - 5) not so great. I have great results to post in the "Reception Results" forum when I get a chance.

STB's just don't seem to be sold in stores in Canada at all (you're lucky if the store staff even know what you're talking about). There is too much cable/satellite prevalence here. Your best bet is probably to take a trip down to Buffalo or try and get one off of eBay. |

In my experience (based on a Samsung LN-T4661F TV and a Philips digital recorder) the DTB-H260F is a superlatively excellent tuner. Whereas I get every channel available in the Buffalo/Toronto/Hamilton area with my DTB-260F, my TV and recorder do not receive Fox, CTS, MyTV or SunTV unless I rotate my antenna specifically to receive them.
If you get a TV with a dedicated tuner you'll probably find it's not as effective. |

The ATSC chipset version is the key - if it is 5th Generation (as in the Samsung DTB-H260F) the performance is better. The stockpile of 4th Generation chips is gradually dwindling from today's products on the market.

I thinking of getting a Samsung DTB-H260F to take the place of my 9200 for ota.Is it true you can't add channels after you scan?So if you turned your rotor you would have to rescan? And with my 9200 I have to have min 60% to lock.My Samsung tv can lock on 10% is the 260 much the same?thanks

I've been able to add channels on my dtb-h260f. I've never needed to rescan, although maybe I should since I've got Rochester stations I've received once that still appear in the program guide even though I've deleted them.
