Hi, can you give us your exact location (city, town, street corner, province)?

I'll be at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I'd be happy if I got CTV in Baden, Global in Paris and CityTV in Stratford and I'd be even happier if I got CH in Hamilton and A-Channel in Wingham.

Please click on the links in my signature at the bottom of this post for valuable information, and then read through the "ON - Hamilton to Woodstock/Burlington to Kitchener/Cambridge/Guelph- OTA" thread in the Reception Results sub-forum:

http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/for...ad.php?t=36535

Once you've read through that thread please ask any questions there about reception and available stations in Waterloo. When you see what kind of gear others in the area have been using you can read through the Equipment threads to find out about purchasing.

At this point lets not use this current thread to assist you since I do not recommend a Silver Sensor or clone for your situation.

Default Where to buy ZSS or Clone in Niagara area?

Good evening everyone. This is my first post here. I've been lurking for several days and have read and re-read the knowledgebase/FAQ thread a few times. Using the search function (yes, some of us newbies actually do that ) I've managed to answer just about all of my questions so far, but one eludes me: Does any one here know where I can buy a ZSS or clone off the shelf in the Niagara area?

Sadly, I am renting my house and can't convince my landlord to allow me to erect a proper outdoor antenna and I have no access to the roof crawlspace. On the up side, I'm in the south-east corner of Niagara Falls, ON and therefore very close to Buffalo and can see Grand Island from my bedroom window (or at least it used to be visible from here before all the huge hotels went up).

Thanks,

Anshar

I was just talking to a guy at Active Surplus, and although they no longer stock the Terk HDTVi (a one-time deal, he said), they will be getting a shipment of HDTVa antennas in about a week. Even better, he said they'd be about the same price as the i (~$15-20).

Turns out they aren't carrying the HDTVa. They brought in some other amplified antenna of a totally different design.

I was at Active Surplus yesterday and the pickings are slim. They have two types of indoor antennas in stock.
1. Generic "rabbit ears". Cost is $5.
2. Jensen TV930 amplified. Cost is $15. I checked online reviews and they're pretty poor.

I'm still on the lookout for a Zenith or Terk in the Toronto area. Please let me know if any are found.

Default Toronto ZSS source: Above-All Electronics on Bloor

If you're looking for a Silver Sensor, Above-All electronics on Bloor st. (across from Honest Ed's) has loads of them in stock for ~$16.

I called Above All yesterday and they don't have any left. If anyone knows where to find some, please post up.

Thanks, I'm already watching that one. Maybe I'll luck out and find one that already has the "broomstick mod".

Ask the guys to sell you one with buy it now ... he offer me a $20US for one shipped to montreal (+taxes) so it's a fair price and you don't have to wait.
