Default Better SQ?

I am currently using the FM Mod in my SkyFi2. SQ is OK but not the best. Will I notice an improvement in SQ if I use the FM Direct unit?

Default Direct connection at Home using SkyFi2

I assume then you are talking about in the car? I have read about a number of alternate methods to "Direct Connect" Both in the car & at Home. Sounds like a great concept!

HOWEVER!.... At home I tried connecting my SkyFi2 directly to an aux input on my Yamaha Receiver using the home kit patch cord. VERY MUCH to my dismayed Surpiise!........ There was absolutely NO Difference in SQ compared to using FM mod & my Receiver on FM. I really cannot fathom why this would be? I was so suprised with this result that I repeated this experiment again on a second occation. Same results!

I'm not complaining that the SQ is BAD.. However I would have expected to get some improvment when patched direct vs FM.

Has anyone else tried this with their SkyFi2's (or any other unit) at home?

Cheers

Yes, if you notice any static or hiss using the FM mod, then FM direct will help.

As for the FM vs. using the patch cord to auxilary, this sounds way better than FM mod on my inno, no doubt about it, FM mod sounds pretty bad compared to using auxilary actually.
