Thanks pspoar for the link
I will definitely use that for the upcoming races.

Wayne, if soccer can be in HD, why shouldn't F1 be?

The World Cup was in HD for the first time in 2006, but I haven't seen any EPL games in HD nor games from Spain, Italy, etc. Even in this HD backwater we call Canada about 2/3 of the Leafs regular season games are in HD this year. The British Open golf tournament has also yet to be broadcast in HD. As far as I can tell HD sports broadcasts from outside of NA and Japan are rare and are very high-end events such as Olympics, World Cup, Wimbledon, etc. and there generally is an American network that sees this as a premiere event and ensures the broadcast is in HD. F1 is probably only a slight rung below this and I bet that we will see it within a year or two.

I believe CTV will be broadcasting the Canadian GP (like they always do instead of TSN) and won't be picking up the 'world feed'. Hopefully CTV will broadcast the race in HD with their own cameras and production equipment. And isn't the US GP normally on NBC or CBS?

I was extremely pissed last year that the Canadian and US Grand Prixs weren't in HD after being advertised that it was.

At least for the first time, they've tried SD. I can only imagine how amazing it would look in HD. Nevermind the visuals, I want 5.1 audio so I can Giancarlo Fisichella whimpering in his cockpit as he's about to get passed from the car behind him (again).

FOX will be broadcasting both the Canadian(As well as CTV) and US GPs this year (plus the British and French) so we can only hope that in addition to CTV's coverage of the Canadian GP, Indy will be covered by FOX in HD!

Also, as of this season the World Feed will be produced solely by FOM (Formula One Management). I am trying to find a link to the article that FOM will be producing everything in anamorphic 16:9 WS and will supply HD production for a limited number of races (the article didn't say which ones).

Good to see the last few minutes of the Pre-race show and the entire race in upconverted WS. I wonder why they switched for just the last few minutes of pre-race - I guess that's when everything was WS.

The F1 logo on the inside of the 4:3 area was interesting...

I see you posted this at about the time I was going to bed - race finish.

I got home from the bar and decided to check out the end of the race.

It's hard to get good caps from cars going 300+ KMH.

My cable operator (Access) dropped the TSN-HD for the night, so I got 2.5 hours of black screen :-(

Ouch! That hurts Neild. And it was a darn good race too.

It is precisely for this reason that I also record anything that is really important to me like F1 or Lost etc simultaneously on my Tivo.

You know that Speed has repeats later in the day on sunday, right?

If you are a huge F1 fan like I am, you have got to get you hands on this screensaver, worth purchasing

F1 Racing 3D Screensaver V1.0, it's like being at the grand prix really with all the sounds and noise coming through your speakers. I can saying that, after visiting a few grand prix myself in Europe and Australia.

Just turn this screensaver on and watch the lightning fast cars flash by at top speeds. The graphics, animation, sound effects and music are absolutely outstanding! It's just like watching a TV broadcast but it really is an awesome screensaver that you can put on your monitor

I caught it on the low def channel luckily.

Today however they dropped CBC-HD during the Detroit game.

Huh? Isn't this an F1 thread? The F1 was on this morning on TSN HD in upconverted WS. Congrats to Lewis H for an excellent start to his F1 career - best ever by a rookie.

That kid is going to go a long way, he has done better so far than his compatriot Jenson Button, but it seems a lot of attention is being paid to the fact that he is the 2nd ever black driver in F1

Really? I don't hear much about that at all. Most of the attention seems to be on the fact that he is doing phenomenally well for a rookie.
