I think you are under the misconception that HD movies come on, or come out, at different times from SD movies. They are on at identical times (within a few minutes) on TMN, so if a movie is not HD now, it won't be HD next month. This applies to the "first run/premiere".
I guess what you're talking about is a movie that's already been on in HD and is not HD this month, but the SD version is available. Gotcha. Does that actually happen? I've been around so long, I've not "missed" any... I would have thought that if the SD version is running that month, the HD version would be on also sometime that month. I get the "Entertainment Guide" and it shows the movies that are available in HD (with a little H), so I won't watch any of those SD. That guide is typically available about a week-10 days before the end of the month. I look for premieres and HD movies, highlight the ones I want to watch and I'm set for the next month. I check the IPG once a week for the ones I've highlighted. It's worth the $1 to me.

Wait a sec... are you people getting MPIX HD automatically? I saw it in the guide last night while watching TMN-HD. It says I have to call to order it! I currently pay $19.95 for TMN, but I just noticed there is a new movie bundle for $21.95 with MPIX and US Superstations.

The zipped file in this thread is about M-HD, not TMN-HD which would be separate.
Posts 28-31 were discussing TMN-HD.

I think the second paragraph applies to me as I only got Movie HD last month (we were at 600 mhz until then.) Having said that, sometimes there are movies that initially I don't think I want to watch that I find out later might appeal to me. In this case the hd version might be out in a couple of weeks while the SD version is playing now. If HD is availalbe I will almost always wait, if not I might want to watch it now.
Unless I am missing something the guide does not have a separate listing that is only for movies in HD.. the HD is put as part of the little ratings (like letterbox, adult, dolby, etc.) I would find it far more useful to have a listing that is uniquely HD. ..Tom Quote:

Sometimes Hugh has been posting a spreadsheet when he has it a few days before month end. Watch for it in the "What's on in HD" forum. Since movies are often repeated, I don't see it much of an issue to wait for the start of the month for the information if you don't get the Entertainment guide.

I watched Titanic for an hour or so today and the video and audio on this channel are great.
Between the quantity of titles and the quality of the HD on this channel and TMNHD, Astral has really set the pace for Canadian HD channels. They've come a long way in the last while.....I'm a happy camper.... |

Just to add to the confusion Videotron calls 'The Movie Network HD', MHD on their info channel. Does anyone have the official title of the new MPIX/MESC HD channel? Is it MPIXHD? If yes then we should change the thread title from MHD to avoid the confusion.

I believe Videotron should change. TMN (Astral) calls their new HD channel M-HD, short for MoviePix High Definition.
Rogers list it as HMPIX, and TMN as HDTMN on their IPG. When I got my "advance notice" from my VP contact at Astral, he called it M-HD.

I just noticed HDMPX on Canadian Cable Satellite Database. Not sure if this site is reliable but it lists all the cable line-ups for Canada.

Just spoke with Videotron. They are not aware of this channel. Either I got 'the new guy' or else they are not planning anything soon.

Is anyone on Rogers getting this channel HMPIX for free along with HDTMN or did you have to order it?

Actually, there's been nothing on this channel all day. Later in the week there's long stretches of nothing. Maybe we should call this a half channel....

If you have TMN, you should get M-HD. I have it.
The "long stretches of nothing" may simply be the lack of proper IPG information. I noticed that TMN is not listing movies for a full week in advance like they should too. (same problem last week in another thread). If you read post 21, I indicated this is not a 24/7 channel.
