Default Great Canadian Rivers

'Great Canadian Rivers' looked absolutely breathtaking, I watched the one on the Churchill River and it was incredible.

I have the 6000 but 853 is still red in my guide. So who is getting the free preview?

I have been getting it on my 6100 since the channel launched. I get the SD version of Discovery (if that makes a difference).

One of the best Canadian HD shows is Over Canada, which used to air regularly on HDNET (along with Over BC). It's also available on DVD but hopefully it will air in Canada on this channel.

I guess we poor Shaw customers need to pour on the pressure again to get them to move on Discovery HD. That said I will be too busy watching the Oilers pound the Canucks in HD tonight to notice that I dont have it.

"Solar Eclipse Live From Antarctica" is on right now. Most of the coverage seems to be 16:9 HD but the studio shots are 4:3 (and look like upconverted SD)

Ironic (or sad?) that the camera in Antarctica seems to be HD but in the Canadian studio it is not HD. They didn't even bother formatting the Canadian shots to 16:9.

Yes, I completely agree - especially the close ups of the bald eagle.
Amazing detail in a first class production!

Default Question to Rogers subscribers

Is Rogers offering the new Discovery HD channel ?

If so, is there a free trial period and for how long ?

Default New HD Discovery channel

I am wondering if anyone has the new HD discovery channel.

If you do, could you please say who is your supplier ( BellExpressVu, Star Choice, Rogers, Cogeco or Shaw)

Could you also please say if it is part of your basic digital service or is it extra.

Is there a free trial period and if so, till when ???

Thank you
