I was lucky enough to watch some of the Juniors in 3D last year, as it was only 150 miles away and to anyone on the West coast, definately worth your while to take in a few games, even if they don't have the magic of Crosby/Bergeron and Phaneuf this year.

TSN did an awesome job last year, in fact, I'd say it was the TSN-Turning point, as far as HD Sports coverage goes in this Country

All Team Canada's games will be played in Vancouver. All round-robin games will be at the PNE (Pacific Coliseum), with Playoffs split between the PNE and the Garage (GM Place).

Will be interesting to see if Canada can be there in the Gold Medal game with so many people saying they won't be and having such a young team.

People said the same thing 2 years ago. If not for "the incident" we would have taken the gold. I think with Sutter back at the helm, nobody can count us out.

Default Will Hockey Coverage Be True Hd?

Does TSN have their own HD cameras?

From what I have seen, the HD picture is not as clean and artifact-free as, say, the HD-NFL broadcasts I get.

I also have noticed many more deficiencies with the CBC-HD coverage of Leaf games. For example, as the camera pans to follow action, much of the image will 'blur' and the blue line will appear 'doubled'. Once the panning action slows down, the artifacts disappear. I never see this with Fox or ABC HD football broadcasts.

How much of this Hockey stuff is just upsampled, revealing these artifacts?

What kind of HDTV do you have and does it display in 720p or 1080i?

I'll tell you this, what you describe does not take place with mine. And that goes for both CBCHD and TSNHD.

The difference I see between the two networks for HD hockey is that TSNHD cameras capture less brightness than CBCHD for normal distance shots. It's as if the Bell Center has turned off a third of the lights over the ice. Close shots are perfect.

I'll see again what happens tomorrow evening at TSNHD for the Sidney Crosby game in Pittsburgh.

Pre-game on now in HDTV with DD5.1 sound. They seem to be having some sound problems ... cutting in and out. Receiver keeps resetting for DD5.1
