Watched Chris Isaak on WNED via OTA and there was one very brief audio drop. Missed last week's with Ringo, but by the comments I didn't miss much. Chance to see the shows missed on the SD repeats at 1 am on Saturdays on WNED. Will have to set the PC to record.

I didn't bother with Issak. I thin he's on this weekend again sometime.

Fleetwood should be incredible. It's too bad it's not a 2 parter (Like Heart), because I think he's going to skip some songs.

Jesse you should check Isaac out. His music isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it isn't bad either. Very unique.

Oh yes they are responsible....
Keep the PVR copy to show the tech.
Who is your provider and where are you... why not set your location above under UserCP.
I'm in Oakville and used to get lots of drops on the HD channels... they have been doing ongoing work on their hardware and it has improved.
Complain enough, speak to a supervisor, ask for credits... etc:

Chris Isaak had one drop on first playing Thursday night on a song changeover... played it a second time and had two breaks the new second new one was during a song. These boxes still have some software glitches.... I'm recording the Sunday morning repeat to see if it is any better. This is one show I wish to keep.

Ahem, I hope you are not expecting a lot of Fleetwood Mac tunes?
Be careful, it's really Lindsey Buckingham... see the set list here:

I'm in Regina. Our cable provider has entrenched a culture in their workers that nothing is their company's fault. Ever.

So on this situation they first said it wasn't happening, but then when I got them to tune in the channel at the head office it was blanking out for them they blamed PBS and Cancom. It irks me when a guy states with total certainty the problem doesn't exist, then 5 seconds later he reverses it to say the problem exists, plus he also knows the exact cause and accountability.

In the end I recorded 5 broadcasts and only 1 of the 5 was acceptable.

Your suggestion of speaking to a supervisor or ask for credits was interesting so I did exactly that. The response I got from the rude rep was #1 we don't give credits when it's not our fault and #2 the supervisor will call you tomorrow. That was a week ago and she still hasn't called.

It's encouraging to hear the provider in Oakville is more responsive and forthcoming. Perhaps someone from Oakville transfer here or share some customer service and technical secrets with our provider. We can always dream!

According to the set list it's about 50% Fleetwood Mac songs.

Watched it last night, it was okay. Whenever he would speak inbetween songs his mic was off so you could not hear a thing that he was saying to anyone. Stevie Nicks voice is still as good as ever but she did not stay out for long. It was good to see them together as they both started out together before joining Fleetwood Mac.

Was that a matter of the mics being off, or a center channel track recording problem? I was most interested in his guitar work, most impressive. Did I see a Chet Atkins signature guitar in some of the session?

On the mic note I am note sure, on the guitar work he is very talented that is for sure. Like mentioned was good to watch.

I watched on SD PBS last night, and it seemed to be only an HD issue, as you could hear what he was saying on the regular broadcast.

I was a bit disappointed, especially in the Stevie portion - she didn't add much.

I guess they must have done some improper encoding to the DD5.1 mix. Although the guitar and his voice were fine (except between songs), some of the other instruments were sometimes "odd" as well...

My thoughts exactly. Lindsey couldn't sing when in Fleetwood Mac and he still can't sing.

BTW, the sound problems appear to come from WTTW as I heard the same thing on WNED HD (SC) and WGTE HD (Toledo) OTA
