Seems that one of my timers (Medium, 10-11pm, Monday night) did not stop after one hour of recording. Instead, it kept on recording in HD until the disc was full and had erased everything else that had been recorded before...and not yet viewed. The other timers seem to be working fine now...but that really pissed me off. Called Tech support, and they told me it was the first time they heard of an issue like mine. Anyone else have the same issue?

I also had my PVR not stop recording on Monday night. I have Las Vegas set to record on 815 from 9:00 - 10:00 on a weekly timer. It has worked flawlessly since I got my 9200 in August, but on Monday it did not stop at 10:00. My recording ran for 17 hours until the disk filled. I lost about 30 shows that I had not watched. Luckily, the most important were Protected, so they were not deleted.
Last night I had Market Call record at 10:00 on 504 for 1 hour, and it also was still running this morning. Being gunshy, I checked the 9200 before going to work and saw it was still recording. I cancelled the recording manually. I am now protecting all shows until I watch them, to ensure that they do not get wiped out. I have to add, this is the FIRST time I have had any problems with the 9200, and it appears to be a BEV issue, not a 9200 one. I think that they did not send down the end of show marker, or what ever it is that tells the PVR that the show has ended. All my daytime timers on Tuesday and Wednesday worked flawlessly. |

I have timers that fail to fire all of the time. If I go to that tuner/TV, playback a recorded show and then go back to "live", it seems to wake up and start recording the timer again.

Slightly different problem. When I record on Tuner 1 or 2 using "start 1 minute early" the title of the program is recorded on my list as the show that was on the program guide 1 minute earlier. For example, if I record Boston Legal 10-11 pm EST "1 minute early" on ABC, the listing becomes "Commander in Chief" which ran 9-10 pm. It makes vor a very confusing situation, all those mis-named shows. Anyone else having a similar experience? No such problem on my 5900's.

I am having the same problem with the same shows they are recording longer then they are supposed to and then the guide time is wrong and displays shows that are 30 minutes as 2 hrs etc. Also I have to hard reset in order to get my guide to display correctly could not change channel even. Issue seem to start on Monday for me. Still hapening tonight I tried deleting all of my timers and reseting them no luck. I will call Bell tomorrow.
Okay so now after rebooting I have about 60% of my channels the rest are gone and signal is good on 91 & 82.... |

Have these problems been fixed? I'm interested to know as I just bought a 9200 to be installed soon.

I haven't had the timer problem with the show recording for ever. But my missed/failed timers is a pretty regular occurance for PVR timers.
Also with auto-tune times about half the time they work as they should: count down from 2:00 to zero and then change channels. The other half of the time, they count down from 1:00 to zero, then dissappear for the second minute, and then the auto-tune happens. It's like the actual timer is running for the proper 2 minutes but the on-screen count down starts at 1:00 instead of 2:00. Anyone else seeing these problems? |

Had the rogue timer issue happen to me today. Set a timer for the afternoon, came back from dinner and the same timer was still going 2.5 hours past its normal endtime. Plus the Info/Guide sait it was 5:06pm when it really was 9:25pm. And a few timers that were suppose to go never did (obviously if it has the wrong time).
Reset the box, came back but missing 40-60% of my channels. Reset #2, no difference. Did a check switch, box auto-reset half way through. Called tech support, explained everything and mentioned other people from here have had the same symptoms. Unfortunately, they didn't care just made me do a check switch again and it worked this time all channels back. (fingers crossed) |

Morning caldigital:
Had that happen to me Thursday night as well. What I ended up having to do is a memory dump. You can do this by following the instructions here: http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/for...3&postcount=63 Alt |

Another problem that I didn't know existed!
Two questions: Can you lock a recording after it has completed? Do we know if this affects all machine or only those a a specific firmware? Additionaly how many releases of firmware are out there? Al |

I have had only one timer issue so far. I recorded Lost and the PVR Listing shows as a recording of 0 Min. If you try to watch it, nothing happens. Is there any way to retrieve the show or is it 'Lost' forever?
Also, what does the memory dump do? If we run this does it delete any previously recorded shows? |

I had the runaway recording happen once some time ago.
Setting timers to record 1 minute early or extending them had a number of issues. The 9200 does not stop a previous recording 1 minute early like the 5x00 PVRs. It will usually signal a timer conflict. It will sometimes cause timers to fail under certain conditions. Extending timers does not always work either. In the event of a timer conflict, the 9200 will just fail to extend the timer, without warning, and the recording will stop at the time in the guide. |

Altaman, wouldn't a reset of the 9200 by holding the power button in for about 5 seconds also work. Everytime I have a problem with the set (frozen picture caused by repeated quick rewinds then some quick fastforwards for instance) I just hold in the power button, the set resets, and I don't have to reset any passwords or settings. It's much quicker and it works (ie I haven't had to do it twice in one day).
