They also announced there price: $14.99 cdn + Tax.

Good luck! That makes the cdn version more expensive than the US one...

And still no mention of Stern.. (inleast that I saw)

Less channels for more money, is that a problem?

Its pretty tough to think that any grey marketers will bother switching but I'm sure most Canadians won't appreciate the difference.

CNN, BBC etc. are offered but it looks like Sirius Canada has chosen not to carry Fox News.

It appears here that this lineup consists of blatant censorship of the "Right of Center". Who owns Sirius Canada, the CBC. I find it interesting they are blocking Fox News, Stern and the Right Wing talk radio programming. Hmm, they only want you to hear stuff from the Left, which is what the CBC is. I'll pass on getting Sirius Canada, and either go grey, or get XM Canada instead.

Is there an explicit list anywhere of the channels that have been left out?

Didn't you know? Sirius Canada Satellite Radio actually contains special signals that turn you into a liberal. It was one of the conditions that the federal government imposed in order to allow it to go through.

Don't tell anyone because they could come and get ..............................

I doubt it's coincidental. Sirius Canada specifically chose to carry CNN, BBC World, ABC News/Talk etc. but is not including Fox News in its channel lineup. CBC was probably behind the decision to exclude Fox News from Sirius Canada.

Pretty much as I expected - all music channels + other channels of interest to Canadian audiences. The big problem - Howard Stern not included (at least for now), and FoxNews also not in the lineup. And the price really adds up to more than that of grey market.
It automatically means that no grey market subscriber will switch "voluntarily". But, overall, I expect that new customers will probably not be bothered at all by the absence of FoxNews, as well as the price being higher than the US one. I am not sure about the magnitude of the Stern fan base in Canada, though. Surely it's not as big as in the US, but if it is significant, Sirius Canada will have huge grey market problem.
Anybody have any idea how popular Stern is in Canada?

There is a rumor that Sirius may lose Fox News at the end of the year. Fox has already pulled the plug on Sirius once over a contract dispute. It was restored a couple of hours later, but there is tension between the two companies.

I don't expect Stern to be allowed on Sirius.

Well Q107 dropped him.

Honestly, I really don't think his fan base is that high. If it was then I'll bet Sirius Canada would be including home.

There is nothing stopping them from carrying Stern.

No idea, but since they signed a contract worth half a billion dollars you can bet they are going to promote the heck out of him. I predict that by the time he starts his Sirius show, most Canadians will know about it and be aware that he is not on the Canadian service. It is going to hurt them if he is not included.
