HP let's you recycle - at no charge - they send you prepaid envelopes...

I'm not sure if others have similar programmes, but it's better than simply throwing them away.

It appears there's also some sort of hardware programme, but I've always sold my old computer equipment or given it to someone - reuse being one "R" higher than recycle.

I wonder whether HP reuse or recycle - I guess it would depend on the item and its condition.

There are companies in town that take your old laser cartridges when they sell you a new one. I know they refirbish the old cartridges. You save about 20% to 30%.

I always buy refurbs from Grand & Toy for my work laser. They either take them back or give you a mailing label.

I haven't been printing much lately since I do almost everything electronically now, so I haven't needed to buy a laser cartridge in at least a year.

I always save mine up and when staples has a bring in an empty
cartridge + 1 Cent gets you a reem of recycled paper, usually about once a
year. we run them all back and stock up on Paper, I usually end up with 7 or 8 reems for our use and for the grandkids to scribble on ect, Haven't bought paper for 3 years doing this.

As a matter of fact Ive got 5 waiting to go back right now.

I like the Staples deal. I picked up a cartridge at Walmart last week and saw that you can take a free postage paid, self addressed bag to put your spent cartridges in and throw in the mail. The address is in Niagara Falls. I must admit this will be the first cartridge I don't throw out.
If only they had bags for my dead, 100lb, 17" monitor to recycle--the refuse technician wont take it.

I buy 3rd party cartridges and refill them myself. When they are beyond refilling (worn out), they are trashed.
When I was using an HP compatible printer, that meant purchasing a refilled 26 card, and re-filling it two or 3 times.

For my Canon, I imply refilled the BCI24 carts I have.

I am gettin another Canon, a Pixma IP5000 (I hope), which I will refill.

I refill my own cartridges and then when they are useless, I recycle.

To add, the stores where I buy my printing supplies usually have a "recycle" bin where you can deposit spent cartridges, which are sent off to refillers and sold under aftermarket brands. One ster at leas has the bin in the shape of an HP 26 cart.

Nope, but I do sell 'em on eBay! If you have a bunch lying around, you can probably get a surprising amount of money for it.

If you are located in GTA, there is a company in Brampton that will buy your empty toner and ink cartridges. If they are original "virgins", some are worthed over $30

I usually buy my printer ink at Staples from their "refilled" section. Way cheaper than brand new and has worked flawlessly for me so far. Also comes with a pre-addressed/pre-stamped bag to send your old cartridges to them. Win-win situation.

They are called Dynesty just do a search on Google. The prices are posted on their website so you will know exactly what are you getting. I have dealt with them for a few years now and they are great.
