Wow that's a pretty good deal. Hopefully the dealers here will be willing to give me something like that. I have to wait until they receive the TV's though.

I had read in another thread on here that you should try to get the US msrp as the price. For this tv that is $3199usd. He wouldn't go that low, but cut me a deal on the warranty. The tv rang through at $3298, warranty was $160 and delivery was $50. Grand total with tax: $3999.12
Hope that helps you when you go into make the deal. |

I'll bring these prices along with me to see what they'll do. Hopefully it'll help make them budge a bit. Where did you buy the TV?

Where are the posts that compare it to the Tosh 1080p? I must have missed them. The posts are favourable for the JVC 1080p.

Anybody seen a 56HM195 in Calgary? I want to check it out before making my decision between DLP or LCD.
I've seen the 6168 Samsung and it annoyed my eyes since they were broadcasting SD on it at Bestbuy, but I think 61" might be too large for my space or possibly DLP is not the right technology for me. I read that DLP is better than LCD for watching sports and that's what I'm looking for. But when I have sat down in front of 62HMX85 for a while I felt eye fatigue, but I dont see rainbow effect at all. Any thoughts on what technology is better for sports viewing? |

Seems the price on the 72MX195 is $5999 in Canada - also $1000 below the toshiba.ca website. Stand is $350.
Now if only I had $6500 to buy it with! Minor technicality I guess.... -Darryl |

You can get teh 72mx195 for well less than $5999 and the stand for well less than $350 as well.
Grider, thanks for the link. |

Sure but that seems to be the standard starting price.

Hi:
Just noticed that the 72mx195 is in the visions flyer for the upcoming week. It's listed at $5988 with the HDTV satellite bonus from Bell. Get out your credit cards! |

As I am a new member I cannot start a new thread yet.
I purchased a 62MX195 recently. PQ is great, however, I noticed what seems to be a flaw on the screen. Approx 1/4 inch from the bottom of the screen, in the middle horizontally, there is a 3 to 4 inch black line which looks like a thick pencil line. My television was replace only to discover the exact same problem on the new one. My retailer is suppose to contact Toshiba. Has anyone else noticed this problem on this model? other models like the 56" or 72"? the easiest way to see this clearly is with a light picture background. It especially is bothersome as they don't exactly give away these TVs ($4,500 + tax) Thanks and please post responses. |

OK, I'm not impressed with this model 56HM195. Went to a local brick and mortar in Albuquerque, NM and saw it side by side with the old WEGA, Samsung 1080, and Mitsu 1080. Could not get it to be as bright as the others even on bright bulb. Could not dial down the black. Had the black at setting 1 of 3 (there is no 1-100 for black). Took the contrast down from 100 to 50. Still could not get real browns and the dark scenes in Blade II brought out the lack of definition of skin and clothing compared to the other sets. Could not set my own colors, only those useless settings of COOL and WARM. I guess the 56MX195 is supposed to have custom settings. Signal was from Direct TV. Yes it was split, but so were the other TVs inputs. Saw multiple artifacts, probably due to the splitter. But the Samsung 1080 was the best at receiving the signal, nearly no artifacts, but still a dark picture for the Sammy. Also, could not get the 56HM195 set to show 4:3 without stretch (I can't stand stretched scenes). And, I saw the age old screen door effect during action scenes. So, what the heck, over? Are you guys watching the same model as I am? Sorry, but I'm quite disappointed after reading these reviews.

Hey can somebody that actually owns a 72MX195 please provide their feedback on the unit in their home? I am considering one and I don't want to drop 5K bucks if the 62 is better when you get it home.
I plan on watching it in my home not at Best Buy or Future Shop. No offense to the looky-loo reviewers Thanks! |

I just saw the 56HM195 and 62MX195 at SoundSurround in Calgary. Poor that they were just running DVD to it and not even upconverting model.
They just got them out of the box and on display today, but Behind Enemy Lines and Fast and Furious were playing and looked decent from 12 feet away, anything closer and it was annoying on SD at 62" size. I have to go back and see what HD looks like on it before making a decision, but am Leaning towards the 62MX195 for approx $4500, or 62HMX85 if they come down to $3000. For some reason I still want to see what the Hitachi 62VG825 with Virtual 1080P II looks like. I guess I'm looking for best bang for the buck in 62" for sports and movie programming. Anybody got any suggestions?? |
