Regular HD hockey coverage begins November 5. The plan is to air the first game of the Saturday night double headers in HD.

the cbc is only doing what they think will give them the biggest bang for the buck. what will give them the most revenue. it may be goverment owned but it still is a business.
having their office 2 minutes from the ACC makes it convenient for them to put ACC games in HD. but i wouldnt mind seeing all the Canadian teams in HD. go leafs go! |

That's just it. It will become the Leafs HD channel. I guess it is the largest fan base but we will see whether it happens and how it will roll out.

IMHO, the early game once a week is a nice upgrade from nothing! Just be happy that the wheels are in motion, and that CBC is heading in the right direction. Enjoy the early games in HD this year, and hope for HD double-headers next season.

Am I missing something. I'm watching the Leafs/Phili game right now on HDCBC on Rogers in Kitchener, 8300 Digital cable box. This isn't HD. I can switch to the baseball playoffs though, now that's HD!
What gives? |

THanks, I was skimming posts and saw some info hitting around what I was I was suspecting... the strike had something to do with it or something. UPconverted to 1080i.
Cool, thanks for the info. |

Ya, it stinks. Same happening over on Radio Canada, who is actually using the RDS feed instead of their own feed for some odd reason... Then again the baseball game on WUTV looks great compared to standard cable...
I am finding that there are some audio drop outs on both cable and antenna tonight for HNIC... anyone else having these issues? |
