So far the only things I am missing after the switch to Buffalo are:

1. The first 45 minutes of The Early Show on CBS (which I don't watch anyways)

2. Maybe some HD Detroit Lions NFL games on Sundays. Now we get the Buffalo Bills. But I noticed that CBS and FOX do not cover the Bills in HD as much as some of the bigger market teams. Perhaps they've checked the demographics of the Buffalo market.

3. I no longer get syndicated episodes of "Everybody Loves Raymond" at 11 everynight on CBSHD. But then I wouldn't mind. Instead now you get homicides and 3-alarm fires in Buffalo at 11 just like the 2 other Buffalo stations, but not WUTV.

This does mean that we will get fewer NFL games without Sunday Ticket, whether they are in HD or SD as Detroit and Buffalo channels typically carry different games and in the past we would always get Buffalo games in SD and, perhaps, Detroit games in HD or upconverted SD. The same thing is true for college football when there are regional feeds - our variety just decreased.

WNYO in HD instead of WGN. So does that mean someone like me who does not get WNYO in there lineup...would also not get the WB HD signal???

Is 512 in the lineup right now?

512: INFO shows the program... but no audio no video
531: HDFOX: audio only, no video (whole night of Sept 24)
527: HDABC: no audio, no video (as of 10:15PM, sept 24).

I called Rogers, they are aware of the 531 problem. Now whenever I turn to 531, my 8300HD reboots. What a smooth switch.

My SA8300HD also just rebooted. I may have been surfing past that channel...

Also noticed that the sound from CBS? was improperly encoded, with the dialogue coming from the left-rear. I guess there'll be some teething pains for the next while.

Glad I got the Seattle channels for what little I record of these channels...

As of right now, HDFOX 531 is back to the Detroit feed. I've noticed an array of problems with the Buffalo feeds, and feel that they're just not ready for primetime. I want Detroit back.

Doesn't this suggest that they could change their SD feeds to Detroit and still be in compliance with CRTC? I think it's commonly known the Detroit feeds are much better than the Buffalo ones. So what reason(s) would they have for choosing inferior feeds?

This is a very sad day this Sunday morning, as we prepare to watch the NFL. Now our choice of games has dramatically decreased as pointed out by some already. I am going to get sick and tired of watching the Bills lose every week very quickly.
With the East feed from Detroit for HD until now, it was almost like having NFL Sunday ticket with the amount of games to choose from.
Damn, I just hope simsubbing on HD isn't next, else TV won't be worth watching anymore again.

If you read between the lines, you can probably infer that HD simsubbing isn't that far behind.

Also two other points:

1. The volume on NBC Buffalo seems much lower than NBC Spokane.
2. For now, you're still getting an extra NFL outlet (FOX Detroit)

Why is it that Ottawa gets all Detroit channels (they used to have all Rochester), and not Buffalo? I never understood this, isn't Detroit much further away from Ottawa than Buffalo?

Once Rochester has all HD will Ottawa have to switch all channels back to Rochester?

I don't think so....Rochester is gone forever. BTW, right now Ottawa gets one less HD station than TO.... we don't have and WBHD.

Buffalo gets Detroit now because the microwave system that delivered the Rochester signals to them discontinued the system. Ottawa uses Detroit because the Detroit signals don't have any Candian advertising like the Buffalo ones.

The main reason Toronto now has HD signals from Buffalo is because all the SD feeds are from Buffalo. If Rogers switched all the feeds to Detroit, there would be a lot of people that would be very angry with that change. I remember that a lot of people were very angry when the Rochester locals went. I'm sure if Rogers could have found another cost effective way of gettting the Rochester locals to Ottawa, they would have done that.
