A couple of things came up in the Viewsat Pro thread that I wanted to pursue, and I have a couple of other Coolsat related tidbits that may be useful to others. I thought it might be worthwhile to start a new thread.
Regarding the Coolsats that are currently advertised on Kijiji in Alberta - I contacted the poster of the 8100 advertised at 50, offered 25, have not had a reply. As I paid 20 for the 8100 I have right now, not going to pursue another at 50 bucks.
I contacted the poster of the 7000 advertised at 30.00, he still has the unit. Does the use of the 7000 as a satellite tuning meter make it worthwhile picking up for 30 or less?
Also, I was dabbling with my 8100 and MicroHD yesterday while doing some LNB and aiming experiments. Noticed that the 8100 and MicroHD remotes and codes appear to be interchangeable. This would be annoying if you have both of the boxes installed at the same time, but helpful if you need to replace a remote control or enter codes on a Harmony.
I've got a few images related to the use of the 8100 for OTA that I'll post later.

I offered to take a Coolsat 8000 from a fellow in Ontario advertising it on kijiji for $25, but he will not ship it. I have a Coolsat 7000 which is good for dish orientation. Compared to my Openbox S9, that Coolsat was much better for orientation and worth a little investment. But my microHD is fine now, so I don't use the Coolsat any longer for that purpose.
