Default HDTV Free-View

I see Eastlink is offering a "free-view" of their HD set of channels with the HDTV DCT-6200 box rental. Just wondering how much they usually charge for this package since I can't imagine anyone getting the box *without* getting the high def channels -- what would be the point?

I was hoping that they would just throw those channels on as a bonus for renting the box...but if I'm looking at an extra $10/month + however much they are eventually gonna charge me for the HD channels (guessing $6.95?) I might reconsider. Knowing how long this preview is going to last might help as well.

Also, can anyone vouch for the quality of the rest of the SD channels on an HDTV monitor as opposed to the regular DCT-2500? Is there much improvement?

Thks,
TJ

Default HD channels and DCT Rental fee

Currently there is no charge for the HD channels...just the box rental fee of 20 bucks a month.

Talking

No monthly fee for programming, just the HD box fee(9.95/month) or the DVR fee(14.95/month).

My SD channels look pretty decent under the circumstances(an LCD flat panel TV) although it's only a 32".

Yeah i figured something was wrong, The CSR this morning was super helpful. Turns out it was a mistake they made and immediately corrected it. I wish Bell Expressvu reps weren't so rude and ignorant. I'm still getting bills and charges from them and I haven't been with them since April. They'll try to sucker you out of every dollar you have... reminds me of Aliant. Makes sense since Aliant is owned by Bell.... Avoid them both at all costs...

CSR rep also told me that Eastlink is currently in negotiations to add many more channels to our lineup. The talks are taking longer then normal cause they don't want to increase our monthly costs.
