DDP technology is not readily available in Canada and not supported by Bell. The DDP twin requires the use of the elliptical dish and receive both sat. signals.

Well from what you said it sounds like you have 18" dishes. One pointed at 82 and one at 91. You have the signals joined using a SW21 switch and then have one cable running from the SW21 switch to the HD receiver and another cable from the 91 dish to the 3100. Both dishes probably have legacy dual lnb's.

If you buy the 92xx it will come with an elliptical dish, 2 legacy dual lnb's and a SW44 switch.

Go back and read the install 101 thread maybe it will be a bit clearer now.

Default New 9220 owner.

Did self install... Getting nowhere fast. Many calls with little help.

When 91 is good it say's 82 wrong sat 91.

The check switch list's only one port as 91 and x in transponder. 82 is not listed. after check it says error 91 even. I can watch all channels on 91.

* i relocate the wire's in the switch and 82 is active * same error msg 82 even but now i get hd channels? What's going on? is my dish not pointed right?

Its getting late tomorrow i'll go direct to the reciver and find 91, check switch, find 82, check switch, then hook it all up in the switch.

Regards Mike from Windsor, On.

When i hook up one either the 91 or the 82 direct to my reciver.... both sat are being found. even and odd.

what is the procedure for hooking up the wire's to the switch.... could it be my wire's to the switch, or maybe the switch?

Regards, Mike.

are you using a SW44? If so.........do you have all 4 wires connected with one coming from a power outlet?

Default Installation issue...

This pas weekend I tried to install the DPP Twim LNB with the DPP seperator and lost signal completely. I have a 3100 and a 6100 and was looking to replace on of them with the 9200. I first took of the old LNB's and then hooked up the DPP twin. I tested the bedroom first both receivers worked fine when I hooked them up in my room. I figured since everything worked fine from there I decided to go ahead and do the living room... this is where I lost signal for both rooms. I looked over my connections and everything looks fine. I didn`t move the dish so the signal should be comming in at the same percentage as before. Does anyone know what could have caused the loss of signal once I hooked up my living room cable? I only want the two receivers, one line goes directly to the bedroom and one directly to the living room, cables are RG6 and the dish was already pointed at both satellites as I had HD hooked up to my living room using the 6100. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

jonathana,

explain how you have done the wiring, where you put the DPP separator and where the wires are going (to which receiver).

Cornboy,
Make sure you have 4 cables running to your switch from the dish - two cables per LNBF. Notice the switch inputs are paired off, too. Each LNBF should feed one pair. That'll do it.

I went through the same thing as you.

Hi Q,

I have one cable going straight from the dish to my bedroom (3100) and the other one going straight to my living room (6100). I have put the DPP seperator in the living room, right after the jack, where my 9200 will eventually be placed.

I know the separator only works with dual (5200, 9200) receivers. Did you have signal without the separator using the DDP twin?

thats the weird part... when I first hooked up my bedroom everything was great. I had brought both receivers and hooked them up in the bedroom and they were both working just fine. It's only when I hooked up the second cable for the living room that I completely lost signal, with or without the seperator.

how did you hook up both in the bedroom on one line?

well......I would start by checking to make sure you have all connections into the lnbs good. running check switch as well.

If still doesn't work, I would put back the dual lnbs or quad lnb or whatever you had before to make sure the line is ok.

Is the 6100 receiver DP compatible? Although the DPP twin can be used on legacy equipment you need to have a compliant DP receiver in the loop.

Start methodically eliminating things one by one.

Did you try having one receiver hooked in bedroom and one downstairs?

I had checked to see if my 3100 was working in the bedroom first, than I unhooked it and hooked up my 6100 in the bedroom as well. So seperately, or alone, they worked. I tried the check switch in my livingroom and nothing came up. Maybe the part you said about having one DP in the loop is the reason why... how would I know if the 6100 is DP compliant?

By the way, I really appreciate your help!

no problem.

on the back of the receiver there would be a DP logo.

If the 3100 worked in bedroom then try hooking it up in living room?

I think I might have no choice to get a tech to fix it, if I can find one willing to do it... the thing that bugs me the most is that I tested both receivers in my bedroom when I had finished connecting it and they both worked, then I went ahead and connected the living room to the dish and bam! no signal in both rooms.
