Default Rumor - 2005-2006 NHL Center Ice - Free for Everyone

I have read in a couple of different articles and on another forum that the NHL office's are thinking of offering the 200-2006 NHL Center Ice to everyone for free.

In Canada, that means that every Rogers Cable and Bell Expressvu customer would receive NHL Center Ice for free for the 2005-2006 Season.

This is a PR move to try to win the fans back and I am real excited for this to happen.

They probably won't lower the Sports Pak price though if they did this so if you are interested in other sports too, you won't save anything.

The Super Sports Pack will increase in price to 26.95 on June 30

It's gonna take more than that for me to ever watch "the game of which I no longer speak" ever again.

Now that would be a sweet offer, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I highly doubt this will happen - they don't need to do much to get interest back in Canada. I would imagine I will be forking over the $26.95 (minus 15% bundle discount) for the Sports Pak since I am a big NFL fan as well.

How does that work? There are two plans available right? One for just NHL and one for a "super sports pack" that includes other sports? Which is the better buy?

Haven't heard anything more on this. I've called Rogers and they've confirmed that prices are the same as usual.

I'm still trying to figure out which is the better deal, however: just Center Ice or the entire sports pack.

DirecTV and Rogers both have their NHL-CI packages on their website. Nobody is giving it away for free though.

Another forum reports that EVU announced their price...179 early bird...199 after October 31.
