Default Pioneer PDP 3000

Have just come home from Costco, and see they have a coupon for $300 on the Pioneer PDP 3000 which will be $ 2199.00. I also noticed that the colour was not as good as the others...even with the brightness cranked right up. What's up with this plasma, is it worth the price or not really. I will not be gaming and would basically be using it for watching dvd's. I would like to buy a unit that does NOT have a tuner, as I may be using it overseas in the future.

Selwyn, where abouts are you located? Costo.ca is showing the PDP3000 as $300 off $2699, making the final price $2399.99 - plus they will charge tax on the original selling price and not the sale price.

Terminal8...I went to the Costco on HWY 7 and Woodbine. For some or other reason Costco do not seem to update prices that often on the website, because it has been advertising for $2699.00, but in the store the sticker price has been $2499.00 for sometime already...taking the 300 coupon off will give you the 2199.00, with taxes being charged on the 2499.00 price, so I think it would be 2573.85 out the door.

I went to the Costco in Burnaby, BC on boxing day and noitced the $300 off the $2499 sticker price (there were 3 left) and also noted that on the web, the price was $2699 with the $300 coupon. I have noticed that for many of the same items on costco.ca vs the warehouse, the prices are often higher on the costco.ca site.. I supposed partly is to compensate for shipping as it is often included in the price. Specifically, if one were to buy the same TV online, you would get to have it delivered to your door, so at lesat it partly justify the extra $200. Furthermore, I don't think there would be many units left in most local Costco stores now.

I went back again yesterday to pick up the only one left.. luckily it was an unopned unit despite the big box being a little bit ripped. I ended up taking the 3 boxes inside and loaded them into my car separately.

So far the quality seems pretty good but i haven't really had a chance to play with it. I think for the price, the quality is really not bad at all but if you were to compare it to a plasma near the $3000 range before tax, then obviously there would be some discrepancies in quality.
