The complications for antenna positioning are the location of my BBQ, currently to the right of the antenna - moving the antenna over puts it behind the BBQ, and moving the BBQ to the other deck rail adds loads of interference that mess with channel 8 too much. Short of losing the BBQ entirely or somehow hanging the antenna from the deck above (making it vulnerable to wind and way too visible) I'm pretty limited with my placement options. There's also the building eclipsing the line of sight to consider if I slide the antenna too far over.

That said, what would putting the VHF centred on a metal pole do?

I am not an expert on antennas and I may stand corrected, but I thing it is better to have metal blocking the air gap in the centre than blocking the actual element. Any experts care to comment?

Even better would be to move the dipole on the other side of the balcony. I don't think there would be much wind load on it and you could zip tie it to on of the posts.

Nice install, ljnzxync. Have you thought about taping off the coax along the tower? So it won't rattle in wind?

yeah Jase is right... tape them down and leave a service loop at the antenna. Trust me the first ice storm and those cables will be down on the ground if not secured properly.

That is not a CM 4221 hd ,but a PA2 antenna.look in front of the bow-ties you have a director attach to it plus the mounting bracket is different than CM.

Wow sounds like you're monitoring the entire spectrum there in your shed.

Initially I had 82/91 installed by Bell... But I was having issues with the weather, so I ajusted my 36in dish to get 82/91/97 instead of having a small dish just for Bell.

In regards of OTA, I combined two antennas, one CM3010 for the local,
and the CM4228HD for further reach.

How are you combining them? They seem to be pointing in the same direction so you might get better results using only the CM-4228HD (unless you are using a UVSJ and only using the CM3010 for VHF).

To combine, im using this
They seem to be point the same direction... but there is slight difference. I spent a few hours before getting both pointing correctly to get all the channels.
