SM24,

Your track record on previous threads has been less then perfect to say the least; I really wouldn't start the "I Told You So" routine. It's easy to get some things right when you through out all these wild guesses.

Even if you do hear "privileged information" from Rogers cable, it doesn't give you the right to present them as official facts. Your not Rogers official spokes person. You've been told this by countless members time and time again.

There is nothing wrong with speculating on addition of new channels. This type of discussion goes on in all the different cable and satellite forums on this site. But if you read the other forums you find that for the most part most people leave it as speculation and not try to present it as official unless they actually have an official press release.

Personally I like the info SM24 posts from time to time. So it's not an 'official' Rogers news release. Big deal! It's interesting to see what might be showing up in the guide at some later date, and give me an incentive to plough through all the channel listings to see what's changed. At the moment I get everything except the premium pay channels (Playboy, Hustler etc.) so it takes a while to go through all of them - by the time I've gone through every channel, any show I might have been interested in watching has ended....lol

Oh good grief, the fishing channel? The bowling channel can't be far behind I would love to see the soap opera channel, not sure what it's called for sure but would like that one, guess we won't be getting it though seems how I would actually watch it

It's called the Soap network, or just SOAP.

And I totally agree, The Fishing Channel? Where do they get market research for this stuff anyway? lol

I was just wondering when WNLO UPN 23 would start? Or has it already started? If so, what channel? I can't seem to find it.

UPN 23 has not yet launched on Rogers Cable Expect to see it soon in the next few weeks.

It should appear on 168. cuase 169 is Reserved HD UPN when Rogers plans to launch it or they just reservse it HD UPN on 168 and the other WNLO on 169. It 's either one.

ROGERS just called me for few questions I had and one of them was about WGN HD. We are in fact going to get that channel once the negotiations are through. I asked him if it would be before the end of 2005 and he isn't allowed to deny or confirm if it will or not. I had called ROGERS last thursday and they did call me back today so I take this is more than just rumor.

I wonder why negotiations have taken so long? Regardless, it's good to hear that WGN HD will be made available to Rogers subscribers at some point.

I don't know why the negotiations would take long. If it's for legal rights to distribute in Canada, how come Evu has it already?

Because Ted's a cheap *#$! ... my guess is that they are waiting to apply for yet another cable increase and then they will add it.

WGN HD is not as simple as you may think, even though Bell already has it. The channel is not available off a satellite, and thus must be picked up off-air in Chicago and somehow make it back to Toronto, probably through a fibre network. Since Bell and Rogers are competitors, I really don't see them sharing an off-air and fibre link. Therefore, Rogers must install a receiver and work out a fibre link back to Toronto.

Why dont they just use a Detroit feed, it would be much easier. I think Rogers doesnt want to pay Bell a high price for the feed.
