Sorry, I am confused today. Maybe the stress of installing IE7 as well as doing other things at home here. Too many things. I'll copy the IE 7 comments to the IE 7 thread as well.

Marc, "Opening Night" has been on for the last 2 weeks in Widescreen, but it's not listed in your HD listings...

Default CBUT-DT PSIP data

Hi Marc,

do you know if CBUT-DT Vancouver staff (or whomever) will be working on their PSIP information in the near future? It's displaying "VANC-HD" instead of the call letters and there is no program information in the guide. The date and time are correct though.

Default re: "Opening Night" HD WS Schedule

As it happens, I had a chat when the supervisor yesterday because I think next week's schedule is missing items too. I'm told that due to last minute programming decisions the whole HD/WS business can be a moving target. The practice is: when in doubt, leave it out. I don't know if it applies to this incident. In any case, I forwarded your report.

Default CBUT-DT PSIP data

Thanks for the heads up stampeder.
FYI The date, time and call letters are generated at the transmitter. The program guide information comes from Toronto. There are some issues with sending the PSIP data over fibre. It's not as stable as it should be. We're working on a fix with the carrier.

I've notified the engineer in charge.

(PS I typed CBUT-DT PSIP in the title. I guess the forum decided to correct my capitalization? )

Marc, what cities are next, after Ottawa? It looks like the CBC is going by population:

Is Edmonton next? How many are going HD in a given year? Basically, I just want an idea as to when Windsor gets a digital transmitter...

Hey, that's data from 1996. Here's the more current picture, Edmonton is not next

Sorry!! Didn't mean to slight Cowtown! BTW, I'll always remember Calgary, because that city was the end of the line for our family enroute to a relative's wedding in Port Coquitlam, B.C when the rail strike of '73 hit...

Default Team Canada Olympic HD Coverage

It has been commented several times on DHC that the PQ of the HD broadcasts of the World Juniors was superior to the PQ of HD broadcasts of CBC HNIC.

Does anyone know what the PQ is likely to be of the Team Canada games in Torino? More like HNIC or more like the World Juniors?

Will CBC be using its own HD feed, or is there a pooling of HD resources amongst the broadcasters?

CBC is responsible for hockey (from what I've gathered). But it's not their own equipment. I'd assume it would be like HNIC.

Marc, in case you didn't see the comments, please have a look at the "official CBC Olympic thread" in this forum.

http://digitalhomecanada.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=37976

SRC is DD5.1, CBC is DD2.0.

Hockey will be produced by a CBC crew with Host equipment.

SRC is now showing women's hockey in HDTV ... SWE vs RUS!

CBC has now gone to 15:9 SDTV ... luge.

What's going on CBC ... you promised HDTV for speed skating ... you are giving us sucky 15:9 SDTV! SRC is giving us HDTV of this event! So far SRC is doing a much better job of these Olympics than CBC!!!

CBC finally did switch to HDTV for speed skating!
