24 has always had a dark look to it, so it doesn't stand out like the CSI shows do. But still, it's got high productions values, so it's very movie-like.

Does anyone know if tonights premier will be commercial free, (presented by Jack's Ford F150), the way it was last year?

Here's hoping...

I think it was commercial free 2 years ago when they were doing 'regular length' seasons. Last year was the first year they did the '4 hour premiere' and then 18 episodes, then the 2 hour finale. I doubt they're doing the commercial free thing again this year.

Don't forget that 24 is on right after the football game and if that runs late then so does 24 so set your PVR's accordingly.

Near the end of the football game, I tried to Edit my scheduled recording of 24 to start and end 15 minutes later. It just didn't want to take it and kept the 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM start/end times.

So at 8:14 PM, I changed channel to clear the buffer and immediately came back to the FOXHD channel and pressed the recording button. Well, surprise - surprise, the recording programmed itself for an 8:14 PM start (that's normal) but with a 10:16 PM end time ! How about that.

And what a riveting show... can't wait for the next 4 hours to night.

This might be a silly question. I want to start watching 24 but don't want to catch up on the 4 previous seasons. Is there a summary somewhere that I can read?

I watched Season 4 for the first time last year. They make it pretty obvious what used to go on. They already know with their format that people can't tune in half way through a season. So they will do what it takes to make sure people can start a season.

Also, I really liked Season 4, but I ended up not going back through previous seasons because then I'd know who died (who wasn't around in Season 4).

You can read the summary for the previous 4 seasons at FOX's 24 website:

Default 24 -2006 version

The 1st 4 hours were amazing. I watched all 4 last night.

- action packed entertainment. lots 'o explosions.
- some of the best TV i've watched in a while.

Is it gonna be a Sunday night show or Monday? May compete w Westwing (sun) or Las Vegas (mon). for my TV viewing time. (I never got into 24 in the previous seasons.)

I'm going to save the season series to DVD this year, gotta clear room off the HD of my DMR-e80.
