Favorite Concert DVDs?

Pretty much the only DVDs I will buy are concert DVDs. But my one major beef about most of them is in the direction/editing with regards to camera shots.
Sadly, more often than not, camera shots last about three seconds before cutting to another, then another, then the crowd, and so on. A perfect example is KISS with the Australian Symphony. The sound is great but the show is actually unwatchable with all the camera cuts (one Amazon reviewer counted 200 shots in one song).

So, what are your favorite concert DVDs and why? Here are mine:

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense: This is the ultimate concert video! Directed by Jonathan Demme, THIS is how you shoot a concert. Beautifully long camera shots...turn off the lights, you'll swear you were there.

The Cure - Trilogy: The Cure perform Pornography, Disintegration, and BloodFlowers in their entirety in Berlin. The Disintegration set is amazing. Great great sound and yes, well filmed.

Led Zeppelin DVD set: Only one word: Brilliant. But I'm biased

The Allman Brothers Live at the Beacon Theater: Wow. I saw this tour when they landed in Ottawa for Bluesfest in 2003. Dickie who? Check out phenom Derek Trucks (drummer's nephew) and Warren Haynes' amazing guitar work. This is musically my favorite DVD. Well filmed but the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired

Peter Frampton Live in Detroit: Pretty much the perfect concert DVD. DTS sound will blow your socks off, and worth watching for Feel Like We Do alone. This is a great great show, and it's fun seeing Frampton having such a great time.

Zep - it's a given.

Bee Gees - One Night Only

Annie Lennox - Live In NY (for the music)

Mine Are:
Moody Blues- Live at the royal albert Hall, just a excellent video
we watch it almost every month at least once, 5.0 & DTS tracks
Great audio And Video,
Eagles - When hell Freezes Over- good video and awesome DTS audio track

Bee Gees - One Night Only DVD one of wifeys favorites, covers most Bee gee
material from the early stuff to the YECK Disco era stuff but never the less
overall a good couple of hours.
REM - Perfect Square, Kinda grows on you, takes them 3 or 4 track to come up to speed, but after that the performance is good, and 22 tracks long.

I have only 2: Sting something or other, and Mrs. Elvis Costello, Live in Paris, which is easily my favourite of the two. She is SO good live!

Can't remember which ones right now...
They are okay, but I like them so I am biased.

I also a couple DTS audio cd's d/l from the internet.


But I am waiting for PINK FLOYD to finally release their THE PULSE tour album...

Bought Pat Metheny Ordinary Day Live this weekend. Visuals are nothing special but it sure sounds sweet Via DTS.

Eagles - Hell Freezes Over

Rush IN Rio. Over the decades the guys in the band have been top notch musicians and seeing them live was a blast. This DVD captures thier final concert of the Vapour Trails tour last year. It was filmed in Rio De Janero in front of 60K fans. During the whole show you could see how into it the fans were, but the best part of the whole thing was the band, after all these years these guys can still perform way better than most 70's and 80's generation bands. I urge anyone who is even remotely into anything about this band to pick up this 2 DVD concert set. The nearly 3 hour concert alone is worth the price (not to mention all the extras on the 2nd DVD). I completely enjoyed this concert DVD and thought I would pass on my thoughts to the readers on this board. 2 thumbs way up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diana Krall 'Live in Paris' -- stunning, in looks and performance.

Kate and Anna McGarrigle 'The McGarrigle Hour' --Kate, Anna, family and friends - talent, talent, and more talent - good to see and hear.

One Night With Blue Note 'The Historic All-Star Reunion Concert' -- NY '85, some jazz greats doing what they do, and doing it so well.

Oscar Peterson 'A Night in Vienna' -- Oscar Peterson, Canada's jazz legend -- no longer at, or in his finest form, but Oscar, and I love Oscar.

John Denver 'The Wildlife Concert' -- classic Denver, straightahead stuff, well-performed and presented.

Alison Kraus and Union Station 'Live' -- great collection of sounds, well-performed.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band 'Will the Circle be Unbroken' -- fun stuff.

Great photography (B&W 35mm!), great sound, great music, incredible backup band with Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, T-Bone Burnett, Tom Waits, Jackson Browne, and others, backup vocals by k.d. lang, Jennifer Warnes, and Bonnie Rait.

Is the audio between songs,with Alison talking, at a lower level on your disc?
I have to crank up the volume to hear what she is saying, then the next song starts and it is way too loud.
I am just using the sound from my Toshiba RPTV, so I don't know if that is the cause.
It's not a major problem, as once you have played it once, you don't really need to hear what she is saying every time.
But the music sure is great.
