The Exorcism of Emily Rose - Laura Linney stars as a lawyer hired to defend a priest (Tom Wilkinson) charged with the negligent homicide of a girl upon whom he was performing an exorcism.

The movie started off quite well - interesting story and characters, good pacing - but it really lost steam in the last half hour and the ending was dismally weak. Too bad.

The 40-Year-Old Virgin - Freaking hilarious! I laughed throughout the entire movie. Carell is great. I see why this movie made $109M. DVD was a little soft, but Audio was very good.

The Football Factory -- A gritty, low-budget film about the culture of soccer hooligans in London, sort of the anti-Notting Hill

March Of The Penguins - Everything about this movie screams for an HD treatment. And I will surely watch it again in HD because we really enjoyed it. The scenery is stunning! Excellent family movie with very touching moments. However, there are some parts where I wished Morgan Freeman would explain why some things are happening like when that predator duck is rounding up the chicks to choose his victim while the mothers are just standing around watching. But the whole process of marching to create one single new life is more than amazing, it's humbling. I don't know which format this movie will go for (HD-DVD/BluRay), but I want it in HD...

Totally agre!! We were very impressed with that documentary.. the photography was outstanding.. some of the scenes were so touching..sniff sniff..

the mama and losing her baby :-( how all the other mothers rallied together and wouldn't let her take another baby... I was so touched by that scene..

I kind of wished that there was a bit more meaty info , but regardless Morgan Freeman really helped put more heart into it....

The Constant Gardener -- An excellent thriller about death, intrigue and the pharmaceutical industry in Africa. Great cast (Ralph Fiennes, Rachel Weisz, Billy Nighy, Pete Postlethwaite), beautiful scenery and outstanding video quality on the dvd.

Watched The Constant Gardener the other evening. Will admit to enjoying reviews of the picture much more than the an actual viewing.

Personally, I found it a touch long, a little too dragged out, and definitely a little too "manipulated" (irritatingly so for my tastes). Although the storyline and plot were fair, the acting decent enough, and some of the action 'ok', the Director's constant use of flashbacks, and video with totally-weird and unnatural colours, tended to just annoy me, and serve to distract me from the film, it's story, and sometimes very beautiful scenary, rather than draw me into it all.

I expected more. Maybe with a second viewing, I'll get that? But have too many titles to watch for that to happen anytime soon.

Hostage - A fun little movie with Willis, and some scary little boys. It was a good action-packed movie. Perhaps too many plot lines to follow, but a very fun watch indeed.
Watched it on MCHD. Picture was very good. The California hillside was showcased brilliantly in this flick. Audio was also very good. 5.1, with lots of surround use.

Will be watching either War of the Worlds or Sin City tonight. Don't know yet. it has to fit with figure skating and football.

The Jacket - Adrian Brody is a Gulf War veteran who, consigned to a mental institution, finds himself travelling into the future and having sex with Keira Knightley.

An interesting, Fahrenheit 451-esque premise, a lot of mediocre acting and leisurely pacing. It was...okay.
