speaker load and effect? Its been so long!
I am going to wire my basement development with in ceiling speakers that are all 8ohm. I want to wire two rooms with two sets of speakers so 4 speakers in all. And possibly add another set outside at the deck
My amp will do 6-16 ohm/channel on the second output at 120w/channel
I would like to be able to add outdoor speakers as well but would not want them on all the time! I have to run a speaker selector, but how does that play into ohm load?
If i run series wired in just the two rooms I will have 16ohm, what effect will this have on power output? is it just lower sound output?
Now if I went with 3 sets of speakers with one set outside and ran series parallel I THINK my output ohm would be 5.3ohm. Would this cause issue with the amp being its rated? or should I just go with two sets of speakers outside so I have the same 16ohm load when each zone is selected and 8ohm when both are selected?
So confused but its Friday so thats my excuse LOL.
