The European Internet registry -- RIPE NCC -- is expected to exhaust its supply of IPv4 addresses as early as next week, putting more pressure on U.S.-based multinational corporations to deploy the replacement technology known as IPv6.
As IPv4 addresses run out, IPv6 will become more important. World IPv6 Launch Day was almost 2 months ago, with more and more web sites running it. I have been running IPv6 on my home network for over 2 years. ISPs, such as Rogers, are now providing IPv6 support, either directly or via tunnels. |
