I guess I posted my issue in the wrong thread and it was suggested maybe over here would be better.
Anyway, I noticed over the last couple weeks an issue with many channels coming up with satellite signal temporarily unavailable. I do notice when the screen comes up, on the 100+ channels that this happens to, that it says satellite 91 and an even numbered transponder. When I go to the point dish page and select 91, it gets 100% signal on all the odd number transponders and won't lock on any of the even number transponders. |

London, Ontario. And I just checked my second TV and it has the same issue. Main TV is using a 9242 and the other one is a 5900.
Edited to add, called support and she was mystified. Technician call booked for Friday AM. |

I had an isue like this years ago. Sounds like bad grounding in your main cable between your dish and your reciever. I got bad cables brand new and once I replaced them I had no issues. |

Dan yeah like Hussar says this must be wiring or something. It isnt anything to do with the new sattelite. If you were in the US you would have lost all the xpdrs from 91 not just odd or even.

I called in and they are sending someone out tomorrow morning. Just seems weird timing that when the new bird goes up, my channels start getting flakey. I don't really know the timing because I usually spend most of my viewing in HD or PVR, but I did noticed a few times over the last month throwing the gameshow network or FAN590 on and it not working. This was all a new installation less than 3 years ago, and it's just weird that one side of the 91 isn't coming in now. We'll see what the tech guy has to say tomorrow.

What kind of switch do you have.? SW44.? Check the Power Inserter of cable from it to switch. Loosing evens is normally associated with a low frequency splitter or a bad line between SW44 and LNBF but there were a large number of Power Inserters that fail in the same manner.
Have you run a Check Switch, with the cable removed on the INPUT.? Try that, then when it fails, connect them back and run again. You never know. |

My guess is a bad/failing connector on the RG6.

Only losing certain transponders or losing just odd/just even.......seems that would almost point to an LNB or a line.

First call of the day for the tech, which was great. He replaced the switch outside and all was back to normal in about 10 minutes. 100% across all transponders on 91
