Question Hauppauge Aero M died

Just a side note ... the ATSC section of my Hauppauge Aero-m has died after 10 months - so $5.29 per month to use it ): The ATSC-MH section, however, still works. The ATSC was flaky for a week and then died completely yesterday. I also had a Hauppauge PCI board's ATSC section die years ago.

That's interesting. Is there a linux box anywhere nearby?
Have you asked anything about it on the Hauppauge website support forums?

Hauppauge Support confirms that the ATSC tuner is U/S. Wants me to send it in for a replacement.

Mine died once - I sent it in for repair/replace - zero feedback from them on what was wrong and whether a new or fixed tuner was sent back - I specifically sent questions to support about it - these were ignored.

The stick I got back worked for about 10 or 15 sessions - and now it's not being recognized as an Hauppauge tuner - I can force Windows 7 to install the Aero-m drivers, but then the Hauppauge WinTV app refuses to recognize the USB stick as a valid device and won't work with it.

Another disappointing Hauppauge device. I won't be buying any more.

Here's some interesting Linux posts on the aero-m and switching it into and out of ATSH/MH mode - from the "Then it all went south" bit and onward.

Maybe the windows drivers are having similar issues?
