To any/all:
Just wondering if anyone has had any success using an external, PC-based PVR (e.g. MythTV, BeyondTV, Windows MediaCenter, etc.) with any of Cogeco's equipment? I can easily adopt an IR blaster arrangement with my [currently] idle MythTV box, but I consider this inelegant and lacks the positive feedback of channel lock that we used to get in the analog cable days with internal and USB NTSC tuner cards. While I am awaiting some feedback from someone at Motorola on documentation on the serial ports on the DCT6416III and DCX700, just like to know if anyone out there has successfully used the port and how they did it. My approach would be to use LIRC or WinLIRC to send and receive signals over the serial connection kind of like a null modem connection. |

Ports not active. Here's the FAQ on Recording HD:
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=14099 The Hauppauge options are linked there and discussed in the HTPC forum here. Firewire may work, but is often problematical or blocked. Useful Post: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=57741
