Default Bell TV repair service.

On May 18, 2012 a contractor, installing a new furnace and air conditoner, cut the TV cable running from my TV set to the satelite dish. I called the Bell repair service, expecting to wait until Tuesday, and was advised someone would be out in the morning (May 19), and there would be no charge as it was not my fault. I was blown away.

The next morning a very knowledgable technician, named Kevin, called about 7:45 AM to say he would arrive just after eight. He corrected the problem, made a number of other adjustments, and tested the system.

To say that "i'm a happy camper" is an understatement. Way to go Bell!

Interesting. So its possible to get it repaired in 24 hours. Never had that with Rogers. It nice to know that.

Though I wish Bell had a location in each city where you could go and exchange your receiver if it had problems instead of wait a couple of days before bell to send you another one via the mail?

I'm really surprised. That truckroll probably cost Bell $150 to $200 to fix a problem that wasn't of their making.

It's possible to get it repairs in a lot less than that. I've shown up at service calls for people that had only called in a few hours earlier.

hugh, that is probably more common than you'd think. I've done plenty of service calls where it just ended up being the TV on the wrong input, an unplugged power inserter or something simple like that, and they were told that it was a free service call.

I've had Rogers come by many times in less than a day. Of course being flexible with your timing helps, but even that was not an issue on my last two visits. We've read that many providers have pretty good response times, although Cogeco has been slagged quite a bit for long wait times - not sure why.

Good on Bell for fixing something that was not their fault - perhaps they had another call in the neighbourhood already and this was easy to schedule.

I did 4 "Escalation" Service Calls at the same Suite in a Condo within 2 days, not a single one was Bells' fault.

Last one was because they got a new TV and connected the receiver incorrectly. They were never invoiced as far as I know. I also know that my Company never saw a penny from Bell either......lol
