This is a really good channel. I have been watching it since Dishnet started offering it. I hope they don't mess up the Canadian version and start inserting dumb stuff.

According to zap2it.com, it'll be on channel 175 for Shaw.

Nat Geo Wild will be replacing Global's Reality Channel on Rogers (67) on August 1st, 2012. No word yet on HD channel.

Is the REality Channel ending, or is Rogers just replacing it on the dial. If so Global's Reality channel lasted for what? A year? It's typical of the shortsightedness of the station owners/programmers. All they did was re run marathons of the same old shows. I had high hopes for the channel running foreign version of, say, Big Brother and such.
The only thing they did was run Big Brother After Dark, which I guess won't be happening this year. |

I think they lasted about 2.5 years. I wonder if BB after Dark will get carriage in Canada this year. Remember the Fox Reality channel shutdown as well.

BB After Dark was shown on one of the pay tv channels in the States, Showtime, I believe.

Rogers has just launched Nat Geo Wild in HD on CH-296. I didn't really expect they would offer it so quickly, but good news anyhow.

Really sad that they stick it at 296. I tend to channel surf only in the 500's and would not come across it.

I'll never understand the logic behind channel placement. It looks like their is only a handful of slots left in the 500 range, maybe the remaining ones are reserved for something else.

Anyone have any idea if Telus will air this channel?
I think the HD spectrum already has enough animal/nature programming. A person has only so many hours a day of watching TV and I personally like a variety of shows, including sports and current affairs. Speaking of Telus, customers like myself get a barrage of Shaw XO advertising with the number of specialty channels that Shaw owns! Must irk Telus a bit too. |

^i have never seen a more graphic/extreme channel like Nat Geo Wild before
Oasis is very tame compared to Nat Geo Wild while Animal Planet is pure garbage that focues on pets and domesticated animals. |
