I'm told (yes, I still don't have the new code yet) that the 'Gateway' can take upwards of 30 seconds to show up in the 'devices' list when scrolling through the list. It should 'eventually show up' if you keep cycling through the list.

Alternatively, you can try exiting the Dashboard and then re-entering it to see if the Gateway will show up then.

Take the above with a grain of salt as I have no way of verifying this since I'm losing out on the apparent 'update lottery'.

All my portals have updated but still no update to the gateway here. Thought for sure it would update over night but no go!

Updates complete here. Didn't deal with the missing blocks of channels on the grid guide. Also logo for TLC HD is missing. Haven't had a chance to test for freezing on skip yet. Freezing was worse than usual last night before the update, which happened this morning just after six. Tonight will be the test, record lots of shows Thursday nights.

I got mine updated last night, but didn't have much time to test before going to (truncated) sleep.

My hope that it would resolve the problem I'm having with the MC On Demand card not loading (even though it shows up on my 3400's) was crushed

As a geek, I'm glad to see that the full diagnostics screen is still there once you exit the dashboard... and as a cautious geek, I'm glad that the ability to set server and channel mapping has been removed

After 2 days of having the new update I could say that there's definitely a big improvement on forward/skip functions. Before the update those transport functions were worst than usual but now it forwards or skips smoothly (without stall) and playback nicely. I have tried doing it several times on multiple recorded shows and in all of my 6 portals. The only thing I notice as of today is I still get the "missing block of channels" on the grid guide after trying to remove more channels that I don't watch...seems like this issue hasn't been fixed yet.

Woah, what's this?

I am staring at an "Updates are available. You must restart.....restart now/later...." screen..........ok, now it just disappeared and my system reset.....5102 error. I was watching a recording.

I had the update already, so what is this?

I'm still waiting for it to reboot so I can have a look at the installer tool.

Ok, my Portal was updated at 1:22AM. Last Uploaded: 3:09AM. My Gateway was last updated 9:17AM.

I show the same Software Update version number.

*confused shrug*

Default Update complete - further issues to be addressed

My update was complete when I got home last night. I am very happy with the responsiveness of navigation within anything recorded or buffered. Skip, Replay, Back, Next, FF, and REW all work great.

With that said I wanted to bring up an issue that I have been having for some time with the guide and channel return.

When I switch back and forth from channels I have been watching for a while (IE both buffered) the flip bar at the bottom does a few weird things.

1. It can be slow to actually change the information.
2. About 75% of the time when I switch channels the flip bar tells me what was on at the start of the buffer and not what is currently playing. It will usually correct itself within 5 seconds but it is weird.

The issue I have with channel return is strange and hard to reproduce. It seems to happen when I rapidly change channels (for example I would go to CBC HD, A&E HD, and Showcase HD in rapid sucession. This is usually to get the buffer going on these channels so I can watch all of them). When on Showcase I would hit channel return (should go back to A&E) and it goes to CBC. I hit channel return again and it goes to A&E. From this point on the channel return only goes to CBC and A&E. I will try some further testing to see if this still happens with the latest code update as I didn't experience it last night.

Anyone else have these particular issues?

I seem to the reverse of everyone, my gateway has the update but not any of my portals. Sad to hear that the block of channels missing issue still exists!!

Finally, I got the update last night. Once all boxes have updated, the 'secret' on how to get into the 'diagnostics' won't be an issue anymore so that will be a help. I'm going to put together a FAQ.

The 'channel block' issue should be fixed in the next update, 7.0.3. It is supposed to contain a rather huge number of fixes in the coding and that is one of the more important ones that users will notice. That should be out in 4-6 weeks if things go smoothly in testing.

After updating my initial portal, and then updating my second portal (each with their own gateway reboot phases), I looked at the Gateway in the dashboard and it had a reboot pending as well.

Not a big deal, but matches what others are reporting about multiple reboots.

It should be perfectly OK to 'force' a reboot if you have one pending anyway. The new Dashboard is designed (no thanks to me, apparently) so end users can't cause any problems so go ahead and try the options provided.

After 30 hours, since my 2 portals were updated, my gateway is still not updated according to the diagnostic display. @Jetranger said the gateway is not part of this update. But a few members had reported that their gateways were updated also.

From the new dashboard, one portal cannot see the other portal as well as the gateway. It keeps searching...

Same for me as I reported earlier. So for those of you who have said their gateway updated did you check service status in the diagnostics to confirm this?
