TSN HD and TSN 2 Hd not working in Ottawa? - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

On cable 506 and 507 i currently have only black instead of TSN HD and TSN 2 Hd. I called Rogers and a tech came over and confirmed it was a maintenance issue outside. That was this past Sunday. On Monday a CSR left me a message on my phone indicating that a tech had verified the lines outside my house and all looked fine and recommended I get a tech visit inside my home! This is ridiculous, dont they talk to each other? The tech that came on Sunday told me eveything was good inside my home. I am getting frustrated with this as it is playoff time and i cannot get two important sports channel. Anyone else having issues with TSN HD and TSN 2 Hd onn cable 506 and 507 in Ottawa, or in the Carlsbad Springs, Navan, Embrun, Russell and Vars area in east rural Ottawa? As far as i know the other HD channels that I pay for are all working fine. What could it be?

Additional note: I verified and I now do not have access to City TV HD (cable 519)
and MFUNHD (movie network) on cable 555. This issue is starting to really get frustrated.
I have another tech coming on Saturday to verify my box (again) and see if the tuner is the problem. Anyone having issues with those channels?

All of those channels work for me in South Ottawa.

Have you checked your signal strength, S/N ratio on those channels?

Also, sometimes TSN is affected by portable phones in your home if you have a poor connection somewhere, allowing ingress. If you have them, temporarily unplug the base unit to see if that's part of the issue.

I'm in the East side of Ottawa and both HD channels have been working for me fine. There was a point on Sunday during the Pens-Flyers game that the picture was blacked out (but the audio was working), but that was only for a few minutes.

Historically, a couple summers ago, TSN2 HD was getting that heavily pixelated, choppy feel. RDS HD was having the same problems. Don't know how that happened, but it hasn't happened since. There was another time about a month ago when TSN HD was blacked out (Discovery World HD had it at the exact same time) but again, only for a short period.

I have Bell and the audio and video has been sputtering like crazy on TSN the last few days. I'm a hockey junkie so it's maddening.

ZERO issues on CBC

I swear I've seen posts regarding similar issues with TSN HD on Cogeco and Bell TV.
