Hi everyone,
Ok I will admit I know nothing about satellite installs, my friend said he was gonna help but had something come up. I had to replace my dish outside, other was damaged. Receiver worked good before but when I put the replacement dish up, luckily I hit a 100 signal and locked it down. When I went to exit, it said it would now download vital info to receiver. It's been 20 min and I don't see any changes nor can I do anything with the receiver it seems frozen. Have I done something wrong or is this normal?

Well I seem to have been a bit premature, I played around with it some more and it started downloading info, now just waiting for the last 10% or so. I,ll get the hang of this yet lol

From the sounds of it, you reset the receiver and finally did a check switch, and now you're back on track?

It also sounds like a new receiver, not an existing active one.

Yes sorry it is a new one, I did the switch check, got the 91 & 82, but when the signal screen came up it showed I was also locked on 119. I left the receiver on all night to finish and is still waiting for the last 10% or so. Does it usually take this long?

If you are locked on 119, that is a Dishnetwork Sat.

You need to re-aim the Dish to 91/82.

I got rid of the 119, changed the elevation angle to where I think it should be according to bell for my area. Now as I move it around I get a good signal for the 110 west satellite. Am I getting close or am I a lost cause. My buddy has tools for finding the satellites but he can't make it till Sunday. Any suggestions?

You are getting closer....lol

You just moved 9 degrees East, now you have to move another 19 degrees East and possibly a little Higher in the sky.

Another 1/8" turn east and up 5-6 degrees and you will be on 91.
