I'm actually surprised it hasn't stopped yet. In watching other launches they normally "park" them in the 135-145 degree area for a few days to do the testing then drift them to thier proper location afterwards.

I would say this might just be parked, It's barely moved and the speed is showing as zero.

Interceptor does it moving the wrong way mean theres something wrong? We have Shaw now but we have friends in another place who have BEV and they've been waiting to see what happens and if they have to change. So their kind of hoping something goes wrong with the new bird. :-)

I doubt that there's anything wrong. They've spent millions of dollars to get this in the air, and months, if not years planning this. I'm sure that they have everything under control.

When testing is finished it will be moved to 91 spot. Satellites can move quickly if needed. Remember N1 was moved back when N2 had hi cup, was only like a few days to move 9 degrees.

Standing still just a little north of the equator.......great reception in Peru, Columbia, Bolivia and southern Mexico.

I haven't been following this as much as i should have been, is this new bird going to replace both birds currently @91?
I agree with the footprint as well it will deeply harm the pirating of bell. and if it's as powefull as 82 it will be great benifit to both installers and customers!

My own opinion is Bell has made a big mistake in reducing the southern footprint.
Many legitimate paying Bell TV customers travel south for the winter, and bring their legitimate paid receivers with them, and continue to pay Bell TV monthly to access their Canadian TV, while wintering in the U.S. A very good friend of mine recently retired, and moved to his winter home in Arizona. His wife works for Bell and they get a great rate of Bell TV. When Rob lost his HD channels last year when the 82 satellite went up, he was going to fly me down to fix his problem. I laughed and told him this was just the start. I said wait til June 2012 when the new Nimiq6 goes up. You'll lose 91 too. I told him to cancel Bell and sign up with Shaw Direct (StarChoice) before he left Ontario, and he laughed at me. Well, when I receive his next email or phone call, I'll know then that the new Nimiq6 has been activated LOL |
