Okay this one is a doozy. For the past 3 weeks, exactly late Monday night at 2:30 am, on channel 415 A&E HD, the pvr will stop recording at that time. It is set to record 2 show, one from 1:00until 2:00 then 2:00 until 3:00. However, it will stop recording at 2:30. It is set according to the guide and it is supposed to be exactly 1 hour long.
If I could record 2 HD show and watch another HD show on the same PVR, that would not be a problem. This one is for Here4you to give me a good explanation. This is utter bull pucky. Not impressed at all. Danster out.

I have a couple of shows recorder after midnight on Global that sometimes stop recording at the 32-34 minute mark.
Except they don't stop recording, and I can watch the complete shows, but after I reach the minute marked as the end of the recording I can't pause, fastforward, skip, rewind etc. If I do the show starts playing at approximately the "end". |

That's exactly where it stops at 32 or 34 minutes. If you try to fast forward, you get stuck in an endless loop like ground hog day.
Still waiting for the explanation......

If you don't press any buttons after it reaches that point it will continue through the whole hour.

But why at a certain time only? I wish I had known it would've continued when I played them. Still isn't kosher in my books.

I know I deleted a couple of shows before I figured this out. I now always check the "recorded" time before the half hour mark so I remember not to press any buttons after that time.
What's more frustrating is pressing a button 5 minutes from the end. Then you have to FF to the 34 minute mark and let it play for 20 minutes to get back to where you were. Before mediaroom I used to get shows stopping at some point occasionally. Sometimes a hard reboot was needed to get things working again. I never found a pattern as to when it was occuring. That stopped with mediaroom and this started. I don't know if its the same thing or not. Come to think of it, the first time this occured for me was the weekend the daylight savings time changed. I remember thinking it might have been a one-time occurence, but it wasn't. |

I have had this same issue for a while and can say this was not always a problem on Mediaroom 1.0 as far as I can remember.
I reported this and an issue with recordings not recording at all. They were trying to swap my PVR. I refused cause this sounds to specific to be hardware related. Glad to hear I am not the only one unable to FF after the "end" point on certain recordings. My affected recordings are also past midnight. Time to call Aliant back to ask for free stuff until they fix this. It's a pain in the ass being unable to FF commercials. It's the main reason most of us are paying for a PVR. |

I'm still waiting for an explanation from here4you. Glad to know that there are more than myself with this odd problem.

I reported this to Aliant. They want to swap my PVR.
Those having the issue, are you folks on a VIP 1216? |

I am. I don't see this being a hardware issue. Let us know how it works out.

Yes, it is the main PVR and I agree this is not a hardware problem or all recordings should do this.
However, I am playing nice to cross this off "their troubleshooting list." Did they change their policy on crediting accounts? I tried to get some free stuff Because of this issue, but was denied since Sales can't credit accounts until issues are fixed |

I've noticed that the last four times this has happened for me the recordings were all started at 2 am.

Have you tried a reboot - a friend of mine had asked me if I ever noticed this on my late night recordings, and I had not. He had the same thing... the hour show showed only 33 mins... and after that he could watch the rest if he did not FF / SKIP.... He later told me that after rebooting his set top, the same recordings appeared normal - showed full duration, and then he could skip past the 33 min mark.
IT sounds like a mix up with the guide data... perhaps rebooting refreshes it? |

That is the main problem, recordings from 2 in the morning. It has to be guide/software related. Not hardware.
Still waiting4you here4you....
