Default Cannot receive Space HD (247), TDCHD (249), BRVHD (250)

I am located in Victoria, BC (Saanich) and made some tweaks to my services. Among my tweaks were the addition of some channels.

During my conversation with the representative (through chat), I asked why my Space HD channel wasn't working. After unplugging the coax cable then plugging it back in and after the rep resetting the box, I'm still not seeing a picture and get this message:

ONE MOMENT PLEASE
This channel should be available shortly.
Ref code: S0a00

It's not only Space HD (247) , the other two affected channels that I know of are Discovery Channel HD (249), and Bravo HD (250).

I have a signal amplifier that Shaw hooked up to one of two CSE's.

I have a tech coming out next week to have a look, but, is there anything else I can try myself?

Thanks!

Same thing happened to me. Those channels are stuffed into the frequencies that were used by one of the analog "tiers". I wasn't subscribed to those tiers and had a filter at the pole blocking these frequencies (actually, two, one for each drop).

I wouldn't recommend removing the filters yourself even if they're accessible to you and Victoria is in the midst of converting from analog to digital for those tiers; Shaw could see this as theft of service.

I agree with JasonB's summary. Since you already have a tech coming out, the tech will very likely remove the analog filters when he's there; since those filters block the frequencies used by the analog tiers, and the Digital Transition will recycle those frequencies for other uses (such as new HD channels or BB250 speeds), Shaw will need to remove those filters before they can deliver you any benefits of the digital transition.

Had this issue happen to me, spent a good 2 hours with just about everyone at shaw and they tried everything. A guy ended up having to coming to my place and just removed some filters and it fixed the problem.
