Give it time. Nimiq 6 is only just getting to grips with its' new tasks and the MPEG2/4 Receiver swap is almost over.

When the time is right, Bell TV will indeed give you lots of new channels. Then you can expect the Forums to light up because the rates will rise again.

Question

Those channels may not necssartily be added.
Since BTV first went on the air these are a few of the channels removed due to either just dropping them or other things.

Planete
EuroNews
RFO
Movieola
WSTN
FSWC
X-treme
Edge TV
Baby First TV
MMR
ML
Cool TV
The Ecological Channel
EWTN
S&L
Imagine Dil Se

just t name of few.

And at least two are Bell Media channels still on the air.

So it doesn't necessarily mean we'll see Animal Planet HD,TWN HD, Travel & Escape HD and the others.I guess time wil tell what we'll see by next year.

I'm not saying they won't its a 50/50 on whether they show up ort not.

Default Cartoon Network

If Bell owns Cartoon Network, why is it only playing on Telus and COGECO?

Pinza that is so (unfortunately) true. The rate increases will come again in December.

Question

Yes I was aware those channels are defuncted thats why I said removed or other things.

EWTN is a religious Channel.

I was just pointing out that BTV doesn't necessarily mean they'll add Cartoon Network or some of there own channels.(I think the 3:1 rule) comes into play here.

Which ever the case, it'll be interesting to see what BTV will do after this "Swap" is over MPEG4 is up fully running and N6 is in full operation.

As I don't work for BTV I can't say what they'll add either the "locals" mandated by the CRTC, beyond that I have no clue as to what their plans are.

And true I still have access to Cartoon Network via dish(and the programing is quite good)I do wish it becomes available on all providers in Canada so others can benefit from the enjoyment of Cartoon Network.

An to be honest, even if you did work for them, the chances are that you would still not know.....lol

Most things are a mystery to Bell employees and Contractors alike when it comes to new stuff, be it Receivers DPP or programming.

Bell doesn't own Cartoon Network. It is a joint venture between Astral Media and Corus Entertainment. The sale of Astral Media to Bell Media has not closed yet and thus they do not own this channel yet.

The 3:1 rule will apply with carriage of this channel once the sale of Astral Media closes.

Question

I'm guessing yes.

.But it appears there just remapped TSN, RDS, Sportnet Channels, V(French),(one station N/A) & CTV according to the IPG? Probally just grouped together to make it easy to find

HD

1160 OLYH1(CTV)
1161 OLYH2(TSN)
1162 OLYH3(Sports Net)
1163 OLYH4(RDS)
1164/1831 OLYH5(V French)
not sure why they did start at 1161-1165 looks nicer.

SD
391 OLY1 (CTV)
392 OLY2 (TSN)
393 OLY3 (Sports Net)
394 OLY4 (RDS)
395 OLY5 (V french)

There you go.

Those remapped "Olympic" channels don't appear on the guide for me.

I hope Bell is planning to have the announcer-free Olympic events on Vu! for this year like it did on the 2008 and 2010 Olympics.

The remapped olympic channels are know gone they were only there for a few days. They will probably be back a few days before the olympics start.
