The switch will happen sometime this year. I was surprised that Fox and PBS were included with the switch as we always had Fox from Rochester and PBS from Detroit even when Shaw switched us to Minneapolis before temporarily. |

That actually sounds like a smart move. Let's hope they move WUHF out of Winnipeg's 4+1 lineup as well.

I'd also be a fan of them getting rid of the ABC from Grand Forks/Fargo.

I'm surprised they carried Detroit to begin with....

Hopefully they'll switch Winnipeg next. I'm not sure how Thunder Bay can get FOX from Minneapolis and we're still stuck with Rochester.

I'm assuming all the feeds from Minneapolis will be fibered to Winnipeg then sent to Thunder Bay.
Doesn't Winnipeg already have CBS and NBC from Minneapolis? I doubt they will change the PBS feed as Winnipeg has had PBS from North Dakota for decades. I'm not sure how Shaw received PBS from North Dakota these days but in the past the ABC signal operated a microwave relay that sent the ABC feed and PBS feed to Winnipeg. If this is still the way the signal is being delivered, I would expect that ABC and PBS will continue to come from Fargo/Grand Forks area. I can however see the FOX feed switching to Minneapolis for Winnipeg. |

Shaw's not likely to change our local PBS station KFME/KGFE . This station gets a large portion of its funding from Winnipeggers, and therefore represents Winnipeg fairly well. I think it's in our mutual interest (Winnipeg and Prairie Public TV) to keep the current PBS station.
On the other hand, PBS Detroit can go. Nobody in Winnipeg watches PBS Detroit, and the last thing we need is an eastern PBS timeshift which is only 1 hour off, when all our other timeshifts are Pacific. FOX Rochester just doesn't make sense for Winnipeg in any sense. It's an out-of-market station located in a different time zone, from a town that has no dealings with Winnipeg, whereas Fargo and Minneapolis are our neighbours and shopping destinations, and this is supposed to be our "local" station. |

^^^The western timeshifts, if you are referring to HD, are now Mountain out of Spokane. Used to be Seattle and I wish they still were.

^^^ Spokane is in the Pacific Time Zone. The Mountain Time Zone starts at the Montana border. You can find a US time zone map at http://www.time.gov/images/US_time_zones.gif

^^^ tux you are right. I should have known better. Years ago lived in Edmonton and aways received Spokane channels later than Cdn equivalent. I guess I had timeshift then, but didn't realise it!

Just a reminder. Some time tomorrow the channels will change. So when they do, make sure your Fav Lists include the new channels and your Series Recordings are there. If not, you gotta readd them.

The PBS HD and ABC HD and ABC SD have no info but the other channels have info and guide.
The channels work fine when selected to view. This happens on both of my HD boxes and my SD box plus my parents HD box, |

The ABC and PBS guide info is not showing up on my boxes either.
Strangely, the Fox HD feed has switched back to Rochester with the guide info showing the Minneapolis listings. The Fox SD feed is from Minneapolis. |

I am in chat right now asking why Rochester FOX HD was switched back.
The 2 issues have been reported and hopefully it will be fixed by tomorrow. |
