New Channels always generate a lot of discussion so this thread is for discussing new channels in 2012.

You're welcome to speculate and discuss new channels coming to Rogers Cable in Ontario in 2012 but PLEASE unless it's been confirmed by an official press release, be clear about what is speculation and what is fact.

A post saying "a CSR said it was coming" is NOT official, however, it does put it in the "highly" likely category.

If its posted on the CRTC site that its been approved by the CRTC but Rogers Cable has not said anything, I would consider that in the "not very likely at this time" category.

Just want to reply to the last post of the 2011 thread, WBBZ will NOT be coming to Rogers anytime soon. The station is NOT authorized by the CRTC for redistribution on any BDU.

As for CJCO and CFPL, Rogers could add those stations if they wanted. Since CJCO is a Rogers O&O I would say it is more likely than CFPL. Also, aside from local news, CFPL and CKVR air the same programming in the same timezone, so it seems like a waste of bandwith.

click on HD VIP Package, click on see more channels, scroll down to HD channels, you'll see space HD.

Probably a few more channels there too but space caught MY eye first :P

I also checked as well and HDNET is still listed as available channels for Rogers. they need to just add the HD channels. Nike NTV HD and Spike HD and all the others and finaly give people and customers more selection instead of removing channels

I did what you did and I don't see any list? I clicked on More channels and nothing happened?

EDIT I click on Learn More and found it that way. Interesting. Except that list appears to be geared for the GTA?

In Ottawa we don't get
CW 23 or as it My Network from Buffalo, TLN we don't get as part of that package as we don't get Leafs TV HD

Space HD & HDNET could just be Typo's?

Since I don't see Discovery World HD in that list, I'm going to assume that they mean Discovery World HD instead of Discovery Channel HD.

Discovery World is already in HD and on Rogers Network. So it would be Discovery Channel HD.

I brought up a list of all channels. There is no Space HD just Space SD 55 and 281.

I finally found the list on Rogers site. I now see Space HD. I contacted Rogers this morning and pointed out that they are including Space HD as part of the VIP package on the website. I spoke with 3 different CSR in 3 different departments. No one had any info as to when Space HD will be launched. I inquired as to why they were including it in the list on the website as if it was already available. Everyone I spoke with responded that they also were confused as to why incorrect information was included.
My assumption is that although the marketing people are under the impression that Space HD is to be launched the PTB at Rogers are in no great hurry to implement either Space HD or Discovery HD.
It will be available some time I guess but don't hold your breath. Instead call Rogers and make a request.

Just got off the phone with a Rogers Techniqion and was informed that Rogers Cable will be updating there HD channel lineup in the next month. She said SPACE HD and Discovery Channel HD will definitely be added, but other agreements with other companies aren't set in stone yet. Hope this girl is right; she sounded very knowledgable! 3 cheers for Rogers!!
