Any recommendations for a small DVD player?
Small meaning small height and width (less than half rack width) Prefer with HDMI output and Blu-ray combo but BR isn't a deal stopper. TIA something along the line of the nu-pdp100 size wise would be nice |

Sony has a new model that is half the size of the regular flat boxes, don't have the model number off my head, but they are available at FS or BB for around $99.99

Depending on what your budget is, you could get a portable BD/DVD player with an HDMI output and use it in an in-home setup (probably cost you $200-$400).
Taking Blu-ray playback out of the equation, you can look for a DVD-only portable player instead - most portable players are less than 10" in width.
