Hey Everyone:
I am hoping someone can help me with this: First, I have 3 receivers (9241, 9242, and 3100) I just moved into a brand new apartment building that is prewired for Bell Satellite, the problem is this...when the guy came to install it, he told me that he could only setup the two PVR's because there wasn't enough cables running into the apartment from the electrical room...so let me explain the way things are connected: Dish is connected with cables run to the electrical room...he then installed a splitter in the electrical room that takes the cables from the dish and connects the 2 cables going to my apartment. In my apartment there are 2 cables that come from the electrical room and 4 cables going out to the rooms (one I believe was for Internet through a cable company, but again I don't have enough cables running to my apartment). So to continue in that area he installed a splitter that connects the two cables coming from the electrical room and 2 of 3 cables going to the 2 rooms that have the PVR's. The third cable goes to the other room that has the 3100. Now at each PVR he said they have a new way to connect and they use a separator so that the one line coming into each room is split into 2. The problem is that the 3100 can't be hooked up because he is using both lines coming into the apartment. He told me the only way I could hook it up would be to have another line run, which after talking to the my landlord who talked to an electrician said it really couldn't be done. What I am wondering is, can I use the following which I have from my old place to hook them all up: Eagle Aspen S-2140-CE 3 in 4 out MultiSwitch 40-2050 MHz Thanks for any help you can give as I would really like to find a trick or solution to this issue. |

If the building is already wired for Bell TV then that Installer should not be touching anything as it sounds like he has no training on a stacked system.
It is possible to use 1 cable into your suite from the LMX (switch) in the Electrical closet and from there feed ALL your recivers by using 3Ghz splitters and seperate Down converters for each Tuner. You cannot use the 2 x 4 switch. My suggestion, is call Bell and ask them to send a different Installer that actually knows what he is doing. |

Thank you for the response, I found out what exactly he used to connect the 2 cables coming from the electrical room to the the the cables going to to 2 of the 3 rooms...it was a Dual Coaxial Grounding Block 2.4GHz as pictured below:
![]() Can I replace that with something else? Someone suggested a SW 44? |

NO. You need a Down converter for EACH Tuner.
Call Bell, get a Tech that knows what he is doing. Sorry to be so blunt but that guy is useless. Where are you.? I am in the mood to can someone, if he is in my area......... |
