Cool.
I will upload pics as I get my antennas up. I been trying to get my antennas up before the cold air sets in but I usually find myself up my tower in December freezing my hands off. I will keep you posted. Bruce. |

Well I put my Philips SDV4400/27 vhf / uhf antenna on my tower today.
It's 45' in the air on a rotator, I'm using Belden 1694A rg6 coax. I've been experimenting with various tv antenna since the 80' s looking for the best one for my area and I'm pretty much ready to give up. I'm getting all the Toronto & Buffalo channels but I can't get anything from Rochester or Erie PA. I use to get 8.1 WROC, 21.1 WXXI, and 31.1 WHUF from Rochester 4 out of 7 days, now I don't get them at all. I also use to get 54.1 WQLN, 24.1 WJET from Erie PA a few days a week with my old set up which was a CM4221hd aiming half way between Rochester & Buffalo & a CM 4228hd non hacked aiming at Erie PA. I ran two separate coaxes into the house & into a two way switcher, no rotator or preamp was used for this setup. I guess I should have known better as I have tried various combo vhf / uhf antennas in the past with poor results. I find corner reflector uhf antennas have always performed poorly in my area. I will give it one more shot next weeked & put up the Antennacraft U8000 on my tower & this is the last time I want to climb my tower this year. I won't use a preamp as I'm only running 30' of coax into the second floor of my house and I will just overload the tv tuner if I do so. |
