For some reason I seem to be missing all of the series recordings that I setup, the recordings themselves are still there but all of the series I set to record are no longer there under "MyPVRRecordings/Options/Series Options" and I have no scheduled recordings coming up...
Anyone else seeing this? PS - My time is still off for DST as well...

Had a new problem show up yesterday. Was watching a recorded show, using skip as usual through ads and playback froze with no response to play, skip, back. This part has happened before and stopping and restarting the recording usually fixes this. However, this time, when I stopped and selected the same show, it will still not respond to skip, back, next commands. I've tried many times but for whatever reason, this show is now in a state that will only playback without the "trick modes". Other recorded shows on our Gateway are fine.
I believe recordings have status bits associated with them (like the copy flag) and perhaps one of the flags is to allow/disable the "trick modes" and this got flipped incorrectly for the show. - Haven't had a problem with series recordings go missing - Did just see the missing lines in the guide for the first time yesterday. |

So I sat down and started to watch the Simpsons on the pvr and it froze half way through. I had to do a power cycle and when it came back up, my external drive was no longer friends with the pvr and the Simpsons was gone (along with a number of recordings) I left the system alone overnight and still had to re-format the drive this morning. I'm not amused... |

You should have power cycled both the hard drive and Gateway and probably all Portals too, waited another day and you might have been able to 'save' your recordings. There is an issue that occurs rarely where the content disappears and then reappears. I realize you left it overnight but did you do a power cycle of the complete system?

Yep, I power cycled a couple of times.
I have a 6 tb array and it's been functioning without issue since installation (late Nov) |

To re-iterate what 57 posted earlier, there is a separate thread to discuss DST problems:

6TB array, ah. That could be a different issue altogether. I'm jealous but I do have a similar array that I could be using but I have been too worried your exact issue would eventually happen to give mine a try.
Do keep us informed if it happens again and any of the details you might have noticed prior to it, if you happen to. I'm hoping you didn't have too much stored on it?

I've been pretty good at keeping up with what I've been taping, so there wasn't too much lost, but my wife was a little pissed about losing some of her shows.
I record a lot of movies from Movie Central to watch when convenient, so I can always re-tape them once I figure out exactly what is missing. It's just that damn episode of the Simpsons. I was in the middle of that one. As for space, I have yet to hit 10%, but I would like to see how much of the external drive is being used for system activity as opposed to recording. Anyone else getting random 2 minute recordings? This is getting REALLY annoying, on a day where I have multiple shows recording almost always randomly 1 of them will be a 2 minute recording.
It's completely random which show out of my list gets the 2 minute treatment, but lately it's been happening to at least 1 show a week. They can be overlapping or not overlapping, it doesn't really matter, although I have noticed it happening more frequently with overlapping shows. Any ideas to a fix? It's starting to get REALLY annoying as I have to get the missing episode through other means! |

I get it every Tuesday evening ever since I created overlapping shows on the same channel. The overlap is caused from the 2 minutes I add to the beginning and the end of all series recordings.
It doesn't do it the same every time. This week, one show is 4 minutes long and the other is 6 minutes long. But, every Thrusday morning after the automatic reboot, the two shows are fixed (to be at least 60 minutes each, sometimes 62 or even 64) and I can then watch them. My drives are only about 16% full. |

Really?!
Ok maybe I'll stop deleting them and see if they just automatically start working with the full episode. One weird random thing is I recorded 1 episode of american idol for fun (i know..) and i deleted it without watching it, and then out of no where that american idol episode showed up on my PVR list and I could watch it... like it never got deleted! The date even says it was back in February... I deleted it again and it seems to have gone away, wonder if it'll come back in the future! This gateway system is crazy lol. |

This morning, the 4 minute recording is now 1hr2min, but the 6 minute show is still only 6min. Strange that it doesn't behave the same every week.
I think this is the first time I've lost one of the overlapping shows. I think the first time this happened, I deleted one or both shows, and after Thrusday morning they both came back in full. Similar to what bb147 said. I could easily remove the overlap or switch one of the timeslots, but I'm purposely leaving it as is so I can verify that the next update fixes the problem (or not). |
