Default how to delete multiple episodes

So my storage is up to 95% utilization (that's with a 1tb external drive) and I see there are various shows with 50-120+ episodes that I've not have a chance to watch and just want to delete. Since deleting the folder of the shows is still not fixed in most recent update, what methods for bulk erasing multiple episodes have folks found that actually work? There are over 250 episodes across 3 or 4 show that I want to get rid of so manually deleting 1 episode at a time is pretty much a non-starter....

Sibble-comp;

I've deleted folders of shows many times with no issues - and it deleted the 25 or so recordings of the show; so I'm not sure what you mean by '...deleting the folder of the (sic) shows is still not fixed...'

There's a threshold beyond which you CANNOT delete an entire folder. off the top of my head I believe that's 50 episodes, as I remember it Jetranger figured out the threshold number.

The actual error is

3308
Server did not respond

in all cases the folders I want to delete have more than 50 items, the one I just tried had 79 episodes.

this has been an issue since IS1.

I haven't had any folders that full again that I wanted to delete so it's interesting to find out it hasn't been solved. I thought that was one of the ones that was supposedly fixed with iS2.

I set Neverland to record both nights it was on and they are both there(thankfully as they weren't for my viewing). I don't know what would cause yours to not record unless you already had 6 recordings set but then you should have received a message warning you of the conflict when you tried to set it, if that was the case.

Given the time I was scheduling the recordings for, the likelyhood of there being 3 concurrent recordings let along 6 was pretty low.

Interestingly enough, I did tune in for a few minutes on the first episode yesterday since it was being repeated several times. Watched maybe 5 minutes of it "live" and then went back to watching recorded shows.

I did think to myself, I wonder why it's not recording now, but then I remembered I had scheduled it for a later showing, 7-9pm IIRC.

Weird, just trying to figure out the threshold number I was going to manually delete from 79 to 51 and then try the folder deletion, if that didn't work, I'd work my way back, but saw "odd" behaviour.....

scrolled to bottom of list of episodes, deleted 1, went up deleted a second, went up deleted a 3rd, somewhere in this process I saw

onscreen it was allowing me to select keep or delete, but it had also overlaid over the "do you want to delete" message, a message saying that I was going to delete the whole folder, when I chose delete, it gave me the error 3308 as noted above.

After manually deleting between 4 and 6 episodes it automatically dumps you back to the recorded programs list, you then have to scroll to the program folder and start again.

I am going into the program folder, scrolling to the bottom, clicking the clear button, choosing delete, then immediately up to the next show and repeat, it get slow after the 2nd deletion likely due to current ongoing recordings

Looks like the folder deletion threshold is somewhere between 27 and 35 or 36.

It worked at 27 episodes, but didn't work with the higher 30's.

I may try and narrow it down with one of the other large folders I want to toast. However most of those have over 100 episodes...

Well, I tried to delete a folder of 41 episodes today and it was a no go. I've come across this before too, and I think you are correct at 30 or so being the max. Have not seen the other odd behaviour that you refered to though.

Here's an interesting one from last night. Had two shows set to record back to back on Animal Planet. Both were hour long episodes. First show recorded and was viewed just fine. second show showed a record time of 1 hour 40 min. When I pressed play lit started half way through the show. when the show ended, it started over and repeated from that halfway point again, then ended. Weird, but i have followed this forum long enough to know that this is a known issue, and so didn't think too much about it. Today I thought I would do a complete power cycle and then see if the recording corrected itself as has occured for others, and low and behold, yes! But now I had the original missing first 22 min of the recording and the other half was gone!

This thing truly has a mind of it"s own...lol

<sigh> sad but true or to put it another way, pretty much half baked

It was funny/cool/exciting for the first few weeks to months feeling like posting here helped Shaw and Arris make good decisions on what to fix, now after almost 5 months, I'm pretty much resigned to an ongoing buggy system that doesn't quite work right.

Honestly at this point I'm not hopeful that Shaw/Arris will ever fully and properly resolve the noted and ongoing problems and as such, there's ZERO chance I'll ever recommend the system to anyone else.

Update to my earlier post, as has been speculated here now:

I see the 'delete' issue was just a 'known issue' and not actually addressed yet. It is actually 35 or more recordings in a folder that will cause a problem so keep that in mind for the foreseeable future. It might be one or two more full code releases before it gets fixed.

I still can't seem to get my Gateway updated to the latest "b" software, the portals have all updated to the "b" software... I tried a restart on the Gateway but still nothing.

Default Buggy, buggy

Well I'm one of the few that had a few glitches here and there but nothing major and nothing too annoying - until this latest 'b' update - now I can no longer skip or 'back' recorded programs fast before I could click the skip button with no lag issues (unless I went really fast then I would get the same connection error) but now I click the skip and it takes a good 1-2 seconds for the program to do the skip 30 seconds - and it's not intermittent - it's every single freaking time with (so far) all recorded shows.

I was fine with very few issues, but since the 15th this is getting out of control!

P.S. I've rebooted gateway and all portals to no avail!

My HDMI out put stopped working. Still pumping on component. I swapped cables. Then swapped box's. Still nothing on HDMI. When I plug in I see the Arris on the screen but once it reboot's nothing.

I would have to agree that since the update the skip is not functioning as well as before.

Like you, I have had few real issues, but I swear the skip is slower than it used to be. I can not get it to the point that I actually have the connection error but I do have to make sure I pause slightly between pushes.
